Havin’ a Ball

 

I like to think I know-it-all:

           I like to annoy all, all who do instead.

I like to listen to my conscience howl,

           Forever, nudging me to take a stand.

I am amused to hearing my excuses, sleek and grand,

           Often time when I avoid standing tall.

I have a conscience I’m made to understand,

           Indeed, I should be having a ball.
