Why religion is the main topic in US presidential campaigns? Where is the bread?

I think the US citizens were brainwashed to believing that racial discrimination was the main plight in US history.  Wrong.  It was the mushrooming of religious sects benefiting from the largess and tax-exempt advantages…Later on that topic

John Kennedy barely could overcome the problem of being Catholic, and only his successful speech alleviated reticent voters.  Jimmy Carter had to proclaim that his religious belief value-system prevented him from lying and cheating.  Nixon was truer to himself…in that period.

Mitt Romney has to overcome being a Mormon, a sect not considered Christian by any evaluation yardstick, and Romney speeches on his religious beliefs were not convincing.

Rick Santorom and Newt Gingrich are behaving badly and inflaming the citizens against US Moslems. Barak Obama is still a suspect and tainted as tacitly Moslem: The evangelist Franklin Graham said: “You’ll have to ask Obama what is really his religion…”

A new exacerbation evolved lately: Obama demanded from Catholic hospitals to offer pregnancy pills to sick women…The Catholic Church refused on the basis of its “Constitutional rights” my ass…The Republican candidates pounded on that opportunity and lambasted Obama as going on a war path against Catholics and adopting “evil” secular programs to fight Christian religion…

Rick Santorom cursed: “Obama religious beliefs are faked and not founded on the Bible…Obama has allied to the Devil, Father of lies, and destroying US moral values…”

I suggest to Occupy protests to march toward the Supreme Court and submit a petition for reviewing the application of the Constitution “Separation of State from religious affairs” in current politics.

Citizens are entitled to free speech, but it is unconscionable and unethical that a candidate who might have to swear on “preserving the Constitution” and who have trample the Constitution every day during his campaign by discussing religious beliefs as part of State political maneuvering…

Why religion is the main topic in US presidential campaigns? The presidential candidates are trying hard to avoid the critical demand: “Where is the bread”?  They have no credible and convincing resolution to “How can I bring bread to the table…”?

Religious issues are monstrous smokescreen to sidetrack the citizens from exposing the serious roadblocks to recovery, sanity, security, social fairness sharing in the labor, rights, and wealth…

Religious sects mushroomed in the US simply because it was the best and ideal easy business deal to securing tax-free largess and other privileges bestowed on religious sects…

Religious sects tacitly encouraged racial segregation and reaped huge advantages on two fronts:

First, by supporting the power-to-be and receiving plenty of funds and financial advantages from this alliance

Second, by laboring (preaching) within virgin population, tamed, humiliated and “down on their luck”, ready to bite on the “better afterlife” lies, and reverting their minds, aspirations, hopes, and wishes toward a “benevolent God”…away from the miseries and suffering in this “valley of tears and death”..
