Spread of Wahhabism was done at request of West during Cold War – Saudi Kingdom crown prince Mohammed bin Salman

The Saudi-funded spread of Wahhabism began as a result of Western countries asking Riyadh to help counter the Soviet Union during the Cold War, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told the Washington Post.
(Saudi Kingdom absolute monarchy was glad to have an exit to all these new extremist Wahhabi out of the country. Since then, religious extremist sect spread all over the world)

Speaking to the paper, bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia’s Western allies urged the country to invest in mosques and madrassas (religious schools) overseas during the Cold War, in an effort to prevent encroachment in Muslim countries by the Soviet Union.

(Saudi kingdom invested about $70 bn on mosques and appointed their brand of Wahhabi Sheikhs to preach in these mosques. Pakistan got infested with these madrassats)

US President Donald Trump holds a chart of military hardware sales as he welcomes Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, March 20, 2018 / Jonathan Ernst

He added that successive Saudi governments had lost track of that effort, saying “we have to get it all back.” Bin Salman said that funding now comes mostly from Saudi-based “foundations, rather than from the government.

The crown prince’s 75-minute interview with the Washington Post took place on March 22.

Another topic of discussion included a previous claim by US media that bin Salman had said that he had White House senior adviser Jared Kushner “in his pocket.” (Kushner is “investing” heavily in Saudi Kingdom)

Bin Salman denied reports that when he and Kushner – who is also Donald Trump’s son-in-law – met in Riyadh in October, he had sought or received a greenlight from Kushner for the massive crackdown on alleged corruption which led to widespread arrests in the kingdom shortly afterwards. (Saudi Kingdom claimed it generated $177 bn from these princes, held hostage for months)

(Not to mention the pronouncement of Trump on Jerusalem as Capital of Israel)

According to bin Salman, the arrests were a domestic issue and had been in the works for years.

He said it would be “really insane” for him to trade classified information with Kushner, or to try to use him to advance Saudi interests within the Trump administration.

He stated that their relationship was within a normal governmental context, but did acknowledge that he and Kushner “work together as friends, more than partners.” He stated that he had good relationships with Vice President Mike Pence and others within the White House. (Mostly with those extremist Evangelical Zionists within the administration)

The crown prince also spoke about the war in Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition continues to launch a bombing campaign against Houthi rebels in an attempt to reinstate ousted Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi as president (Whom Saudi Kingdom doesn’t want him anymore).

The conflict has killed thousands, displaced many more, driven the country to the brink of famine, and led to a major cholera outbreak. (Most of the casualties are consequences of infested drinking water and malnutrition, cholera and diphtheria epidemics, due to bombing all Yemen infrastructure, hospitals and lack of medicines)

Although the coalition has been accused of a large number of civilian deaths and disregard for civilian lives – an accusation which Riyadh denies – the crown prince said his country has not passed up “any opportunity” to improve the humanitarian situation in the country. “There are not good options and bad options. The options are between bad and worse,” he said.

The interview with the crown prince was initially held off the record.

However, the Saudi embassy later agreed to led the Washington Post publish specific portions of the meeting.

8 Lebanese Wedding Traditions You Might Not Have Heard Of

On Mar 26, 2018 By Beirut.com

his article was originally published on our Arabic platform by Hanaa Yassine and was translated to English.

With all the emerging trends of extravagant parties and out of this world themed nights, all that we have left from Lebanese wedding traditions is the white dress and the  (collective dancing in a semi-circle)nowadays.

Want to know what it was like in much simpler times? Here’s a glimpse of what used to be, or maybe is still practiced, in some parts of Lebanon:

1. The bride and the groom stomp on the feet of the guests to signify the end of their single days.

2. After the wedding, the bride would carry a piece of dough and stick it on the door of the house. She would also say, Hek khabbaretne sette (that’s what my grandmother used to tell me), to show that she, also, will become the matriarch of her house.

3. A zafeh (professional singers and instrument players) will escort the bride out of her house before the wedding, and all the neighbors and close family members would be out in the streets to watch her.

4. The groom carries his bride into the house as a sign of affection for the bride, and also to make sure she does not trip over her long dress.

5. Some villages in Lebanon carry the tradition of kidnapping the groom before the day of the wedding. Then, his family starts a search party for him, not allowing the bride to know of his whereabouts until after marriage.

6. Familiar with Joe Ashkar’s “Jurn el Kebbe “? Does sheelo sheelo sheelo ring a bell?

This song was actually derived from a tradition where the groom proves his manhood and strength to the father’s bride by successfully carrying the heavy jurn el kebbe (a huge hallowed out stone mortar and pestle used to grind spices and meat).

7. In some parts of Lebanon, the wedding is composite of 7 days preparing for the day of marriage.

On a specific day, the groom’s relatives and parents go to the bride’s house, and escort her with the traditional zaffe all around the village to break news of the wedding. At the end, when the bride and groom meet, they stick the piece of dough (#2), and the marriage is consolidated.

8. An older version of liste de marriage: There’s also a tradition of Naqout (Noukout), where the bride and groom are given an amount money from family members.

The confessional and religious divisions embedded in Lebanon’s system (since its creation) along with political familism[3] contribute to restrain the effective participation and emergence of new actors, notably women, thus limiting political turnover.

Who are the top 24 German industrialists and bankers who fully supported Hitler in his criminal adventure.

From “L’Ordre du Jour” of Vuillard

This book recounts several events of European leaders and diplomats who met with Hitler before Germany went on occupying countries and starting WWII

One of them leaders is the already senile aristocrat Lord Halifax, England foreign minister who met with Hitler in 1937 and thought he was a servant waiting on his car door to take his coat.  He wrote in his memoirs “Plenitude des Jours”: “Le racism et le nationalism sont des forces puissantes, mais je ne les considerent ni contre nature ni immorales”

On Feb.20, 1933, 24 top German industrialists and bankers met in the Reichstag with Herman Goering. Hitler entered and delivered a 30-minutes speech asking them to contribute for the NAZI election campaign on March 5. They all

dipped in their deep pockets and amassed millions of Marks. And what was the consequences to their businesses?
The current German multinational empires are alive and kicking after they totally enjoyed very cheap labor force from the neighboring concentration camps in WWII, explicitly located near the industries, about 5 km away. The detainees walked at 4: 30 am, accompanied by SS soldiers and trained dogs to work. They died within a year from famine, exhaustion and malnutrition
Can you recognize these German empires? Krupp, Bayer, BMW, Daimler, IG Farben, Opel, Agfa, Shell, Schneider, Telefunken, Siemens, Struthof…
Do you know any of these family names? German famous industrialists and bankers who supported Hitler wholeheartedly: Krupp, Vogler, Quandt, Flick, Tengelmann, Springorum, Rosterg, Brandi, Buren, Heubel, von Schnitzler, Stinnes, Schulte, von Winterfeld, von Witzle ben, Reuter, Diehn, Fickler, von Loewenstein, Grauert, Schmitt, von Finck, Dr. Stein
Can you name a few of the concentration camps in Germany of WWII? Mauthausen, Dachau, Papenburg, Sachsenhausen, Natzweiller, Buchenwald, Schirmeck, Dora-Mittlebau, Gross-Rosen, Ravensbruck, Auschwitz, Neuengamme, Flossenburg
When in 1958 a few survivors of concentration camps filed suit for retribution, Krupp negotiated for 2 years before paying $2,500 for each survivors. The next waves of survivors lawsuits were Not that lucky: depending on ethnic and religious background and the State backing the lawsuits, many survivors barely got $500.
” The Jews are costly”  said Krupp. More so after the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 by a single vote majority at the UN. USA, France, Germany, England and Italy advanced for free over $300 bn to Israel since 1948.
Slave work is still very much active and prosperous in many locations in the word. Sweatshop factories in China, Viet Nam, Bangladesh… Libya slave concentration camps of African refugees for buying and selling as in ancient periods. Saudi Kingdom and Gulf Emirate treatments of foreign servants and workers. Eastern Europe truck drivers transporting spare parts and merchandise in and out to western Europe States. Kids made to work in Africa for the still colonial multinationals.
Le monde n’a guere change’: Beaucoup d’esclaves pour les multinationals. Les abimes changent de place, mais sont bordes de haute demeures

Settler fined for clubbing Arab boy to death

A Jewish settler who clubbed a Palestinian child to death with a rifle butt was sentenced to 6 months’ community service yesterday in a decision denounced as an outrage by human rights organisations.

The Jerusalem district court said it decided not to jail Nachum Korman for the killing of 11-year-old Hilmi Shusha four years ago because he had only been convicted of manslaughter by negligence, and had served eight months in prison. It fined him 70,000 shekels (about £11,600).

The sentence handed down by the Jerusalem district court yesterday is especially suspect because it was determined by the same judge, Ruth Or, who acquitted Korman at his original trial after rejecting evidence from witnesses and the state pathologist.

That verdict was overturned by the supreme court, which convicted him of manslaughter and sent him back to the district court for sentencing.

Korman, the chief of security at the Hadar Beitar settlement, descended on the Shushas’ West Bank village in October 1996 to hunt down a group of children who had been pelting Jewish cars with stones.

Cousins of the dead boy, who saw the assault, said he pinned Hilmi down with his foot before delivering the fatal blow. Korman claimed he never intended to kill the child, and said he tried to revive him.

The boy’s father, Said Shusha, told Israel radio the sentence amounted to “giving people a licence to kill“.

The B’Tselem human rights organisation said the sentence was part of a pattern of institutions turning a blind eye to abuses of Palestinians by Israelis while showing no mercy to Palestinians accused of causing injury to Jews. It said such leniency prevailed long before the intifada, and mobs of Jewish settlers have often been accused of attacking Palestinian villagers in the West Bank.

“At a time when violence by Israeli civilians against Palestinians is increasing, the court’s decision sends the message that Palestinian life is cheap, and that Israeli civilians in the occupied territories can continue to abuse Palestinians with impunity,” B’Tselem said in a statement.

The decision is bound to deepen criticism of systematic racial prejudice in Israel’s law enforcement system.

Also yesterday, the governing body of Israel’s 1m Palestinian citizens submitted an investigative report to the supreme court, accusing the government of sanctioning a shoot-to-kill policy against Arab protesters inside Israel in October, when 13 demonstrators were shot dead.

Meanwhile, the supreme court is considering the release of another Jewish settler, Yoram Skolnik, who was convicted in 1993 of shooting dead a Palestinian who lay on the ground with his hands and legs bound.

Israel’s former president, Ezer Weizman, granted Skolnik two reductions on his life term, and the parole board has recommended his early release for good behaviour.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops shot dead a 15-year-old Palestinian stonethrower in the Gaza Strip yesterday, hours before the start of talks in the Egyptian resort of Taba.

The talks, expected to last at least a week, are seen as a last-ditch effort by Mr Barak and the Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, to map out a course for future negotiations before Israel goes to the polls on February 6.

But even Mr Barak, who opinion polls predict will suffer a resounding defeat unless he can convince Israelis he is the only man who can negotiate with the Palestinians, was not holding out much hope.

“In the short time left, with the gaps that exist, the chances of bridging them is not great,” he told Israel army radio.

Note: the killing and detention of Palestinian kids have gone unabated since then. Even burning them alive to death.
