Israel hiding 300,000 documents about massacres carried out against Palestinians
Israeli Jewish journalist Asaf Shalev, who lives in California, has said that Israel had been hiding 300,000 documents about crimes carried out against the Palestinians, thousands of them date back to 1800s, +972 Magazine reported early this week.
Shalev was reported saying to the magazine that Israel’s State Archives declassified secret documents last summer including documents which are more than a century old; however, he said, 300,000 documents which predate the creation of Israel remained classified.
The very existence of the 300,000 classified files—their names, dates, and origin within the state bureaucracy—had been kept a secret, until now, he was reported saying by +972 Magazine, noting that one-fifth of the files, deemed too sensitive still by the government, were excluded from the disclosure.
Palestinian archives: A reflection of a rich history
“There were many people who were concerned about the opening of this catalog,” +972 Magazinereported Israel’s State Archivist Yaacov Lozowick writing in a statement accompanying the release.
Shalev noted that the oldest of these documents, which remained classified, titled “Parker Report” dates back to 1821. In addition, there are 125 classified documents dating back to the 19th century and about 2,000 documents from before the Nakba of 1948.
He added, according to +972 Magazine, we cannot access the files so that it is impossible to say why they are still classified over 70, and in some cases, nearly 200 years later.
Amongst the documents are files on Deir Yassin and Kfar Qasim, the two most notorious massacres carried out by Israeli forces.

Déambuler dans les rues de Paris par beau temps a son charme . Hier , André Inja , m’a rejoint à la rue Michel Ange , dans le 16 ème arrondissement pour nous promener dans Paris , car un temps exceptionnel avait été annoncé la veille par Evelyne Dehlia sur TF1 .
A dix heures tapante comme prévu , André , un ancien élève de Jamhour et qui plus est un ancien scout du Liban , pointa devant la porte de notre immeuble .
Amale, (ma femme), ayant décidé de se joindre à nous , nous partîmes d’un pas ferme vers le XV éme arrondissement .
Après quelques pas dans la rue Michel Ange , nous tournâmes sur la droite pour prendre la rue Molitor , puis la rue Chardon Lagache , au bout de laquelle , nous tournâmes à droite encore sur la rue de Remusat avant d’atteindre le Pont Mirabeau sous lequel ” coule la Seine ”
Et là, nous nous sommes arrêtés un moment pour admirer de part et d’autre la Seine qui serpente dans Paris , et d’où l’on apercevait les bateaux mouches qui somnolaient à cette heure de la journée le long des quais , et plus loin la Tour Eiffel, et encore plus loin Motre Dame de Paris , qui se réchauffait par un soleil printanier en plein hiver car nous étions encore en février .
Enfin nous atteignîmes la rive gauche pour filer sur l’Avenue Émile Zola , dans le XV éme arrondissement .Au niveau de la station du Métro Émile Zola , Amale profita pour réserver dans la boutique SNCF des billets de train pour Perpignan où nous partions au mois de mai
Et pendant qu’elle attendait son tour , une petite faim commençait à nous chatouiller le ventre . Alors sans la moindre hésitation , nous pénétrâmes dans la boulangerie d’en face pour nous offrir des sandwichs de ” thon crudités ” que nous avons grignotés au soleil , ce soleil qui vaut cher en cette saison à Paris .
Alors, rassasiés de thon et de soleil , il ne nous restait plus qu’à retourner dans nos appartements pour le reste de la journée, la tête pleine de lumière et le Coeur vivifié.
Note: Ten years ago, I used to write my daily diary, in details, even if they mostly resembled in the tasks.
