Why do I write the text of alaa el aswany, author of ” the yacoubian building ” and ” I ran to the Nile ” to which I added a note between interlude (I’m revolt)
” I write (I’m revolt) because the difference between what we have and what we deserve has become unbearable.
I write (I’m revolt) because I don’t agree: I am against what is happening, against injustice, dictatorship, religious extremism, hypocrisy, corruption and oppression.
I write (I revolt) to create my world of mine, and share my world with my readers…
I write (I revolt) to create a life that looks like our daily life but is deeper, more meaningful and more beautiful. (More just, fair and equitable?)
Through my characters, I try to show that we are different in skin color, religion, social class and culture, but we are all first human beings with the same feelings, dreams and suffering.
Mothers love their children in the same way, two young people love each other in the same way, children laugh and cry the same way.
In fact, we are all made the same way but we often forget this truth.
I write (I’m revolt) to transmit the voice of the people who suffer, people who are marginalized and forgotten by everyone.
I write (I’m revolt) because the world is divided, but not between Muslims and western people as George Bush believed, nor between white and non-White people as Donald Trump believes.
Our world is divided between those who remain human and those who become inhuman. (Elite classes who transcended the human nature to become above human suffering and needs? Sort of Demi-Gods in privileges)
On the human side, we find artists, children, mothers, ordinary people who work honestly to earn a living, live and raise their children.
On the cruel side, there are all those who see life in numbers and not in values, all those who practice hate and not compassion and care.
All those who dehumanize others, who do not see them as human beings but as elements belonging to a hostility group, Jews, Arabs, Muslims, eastern species, or west.
On the cruel side, there are arms sellers, war general, terrorists, Kings of the multi-national companies, western politicians who support dictatorships for the economic interests of their country…
They are the hypocrites, liars and the intellectuals who sold themselves to the dictatorship.
I write (I revolt) because literary beauty never exists in the void, but in the defense of human values (dignity, compassion, care, community association…)

A Saudi Kingdom refugee in France (Saad Hariri) re-landed in Lebanon after being ousted in 2011 as PM
Actually Saad was handed the post of political inheritor (Haririyyeh) of his father Rafic Hariri who was assassinated by USA/Israel in 2004, by Bandar bin Sultan.

Officially, the one $billion that the Saudi monarch Abdullah extended to Lebanon was meant to be spent on aiding the Lebanese army to confront all the “terrorists activities” spreading in Lebanon.
Tacitly, ex PM Saad Hariri is to be the money distributor of this huge sum and he returned to Lebanon after 3 years of vacations (as he was ousted) in order to personally supervise the spending of the money.
All this money is basically meant to be spend on the election campaign since the Parliament feels too ashamed to extend its tenure again and again on flimsy excuses of “insecurity conditions”. (Yes, Nabih Berry, head of the Parliament for 22 successive years, and the Godfather of the militia/mafia “leaders“, refused to hold Parliamentary elections)
He had no political experience and knew nothing of Lebanon social structure: He needed 6 months to learn how to form a government and he spent most of his tenure abroad on multiple vacations, doing personal business deals.
A few months ago, Saudi Kingdom extended 3 $billion to France on the ground of providing the Lebanese army the necessary weapons to confront terrorist factions and the capability to maintain security and the shaky status quo of Lebanon political outdated system.
So far, the 3 $billion have evaporated into deep pockets in both Lebanon and France: financial transparency is not a cornerstone in our system.
Probably, France extended part of that that money to the extremist jihadist factions on our border with Syria.
The Nusra and ISIS have occupied our sprawling town of Ersal for 5 days and committed atrocities and killed scores of our soldiers and kidnapped about 40 soldiers.
Rafic Hariri set up the Ponzi scheme for Lebanon since 1994 by continually borrowing money, accumulating Lebanon sovereign debt from $3 bn to $100 bn and doing his best of destroying any productive activities in industries and agriculture. The basis of Rafic reasoning is that USA will erase Lebanon debt as soon as Lebanon sign a “peace treaty” with Israel.
Mon Opinion
La période que traverse actuellement le Liban est extrêmement brumeuse, et de plus en plus illisible. Laissons nos religions aux vestiaires et réfléchissons.
Qu’avons nous comme données récentes ? Trois milliards Saoudiens évaporés? (Aide à l’armée?)
Hariri qui est rentré sous les caméras au Liban. Avec dans ses valises un milliard … Pour ? Tripoli qui s’agite à nouveau?
Ersaal avec ses vrais martyrs de notre armée Libanaise?
Et ses assaillants salafistes qui trouvent malgré tout des Janus parmi la classe politique libanaise pour minimiser, diluer, et démentir s’ils pouvaient ; nos martyrs.
Il se prépare quelque chose d’extrêmement grave je pense taillé à la seule mesure de la survie de l’état d’Israël.
Israel est plus que jamais conscient du droit du peuple Palestinien à son Etat, appuyé en cela par les rues arabes.
Israel est conscient de l’hostilité croissante des peuples des pays limitrophes face à l’injustice dont il fait preuve surtout avec un Embargo sévère et mortifère contre Gaza, et le morcellement incessant de la Palestine par les implantations juives victimes d’une Shoa économique générée par la crise dans laquelle se débattent leurs pays d’origine ( crise qui ne touche pas que les juifs , sauf que israel se propose comme issue en agitant l’étendard de l’anti sémitisme ambiant)
Rajouter à cela que de gisements immenses de gaz et de pétrole son découverts aux larges du Liban et de Palestine
Le Liban entre désormais dans le club des pays frappés par la malédiction du sous-sol. (Huge reserves of gas and oil known and confirmed even during the French mandated colonial power in 1935)
Un exemple : l’Algérie a un sous sol infiniment riche , la Tunisie pas . Cette dernière connaitra rapidement accalmie et prospérité, la première se débattra toujours.
D’un point de vue purement sécuritaire, Israel a été contraint de rendre le Liban sud a ses Libanais (et sans condition en May 25, 2000) malgré son eau dont il a besoin. ( le prix devenait prohibitif pour israel. Trop de morts , vu le virus Ezbolla (Hezbollah) qui y sévissait)
L’Irak, La Lybie, La Syrie , étaient des menaces sécuritaires pour israel. Ces pays ont été scientifiquement et méthodiquement mis à terre en 3 temps chacun ( observez les 3 temps d’un dromadaire quand il veut se mettre à terre ) sans pour autant cesser de tambouriner qu’il faut que la résistance libanaise dépose ses armes.
Entretenir la faiblesse des pays arabes et les anémier pour les cent ans à venir, passera désormais d’après les stratèges du pentagone et d israel réunis par la semence d’une guerre Suchi ( Sunnites / Chiites) et elle commence à donner ses fruits mortifères. Les printemps se suivent mais ne se ressemblent pas.
Le Liban ”is different ” . Devenu très anglophone, très peu francophone, la France (sa mère adoptive ) en grande difficulté économique ne viendra plus vraiment à son secours car :
1/ Il s’est tourné vers les USA
2/ la France est un pays matérialiste, Laïc. Défendre la chrétienté, lui est vraiment passé de mode.
La guerre sunnite / chiite a déjà commencé dans la région, et je suis intimement convaincu que ces stratèges de l’apocalypse nous diront bientôt qu’il ne faut pas mettre tous les salafistes dans le même sac
Il y aura les bons salafistes: ceux qui se battront contre le Ezbollah , et les mauvais salafistes ceux qui se battront contre l’armée libanaise (sic!)
Plus que jamais au Liban, les politiciens Libanais ne commandent plus sur rien et n’ont de l’autorité que dans la mesure où ils ne l’exercent pas.
Bientôt , même une chatte au Liban, ne reconnaîtra plus ses chatons.
Ah les Chrétiens … J’allais vous oublier : je ne vous pense pas les vrais visés dans l’apocalypse annoncée, vous serez soit des victiles collatérales, soit des victiles de diversion. Dans les deux cas, vous aurez vos ” couloirs humanitaires ”
Déjà que le Liban est couloir en soi . Couloirs dans un couloir : rien de mieux pour couler notre pays.

تسلمتُ مسؤوليتي في الكورة كمنفذ عام في اول ايلول من سنة 1970 ، وكان الاستاذ حميد نعمه قد استقال من هذه المسؤولية وسلمني اياها في جلسة عقدت في بيت الامين ايلي نصار في كوسبا ، وهو كان ناموساً للمنفذية واستمر بهذه المهمة كما كان الرفيق ناهض سليمان ناظرا للإذاعة والامين خليل فارس للتدريب .
بعد التسلم والتسليم دعونا القوميين الى سلسلة من الاجتماعات الادارية للتعرف على الاعضاء وعلى اوضاع الوحدات الحزبية واعتقد ان البعض الكثير ربما تفاجأوا بهذا المنفذ الصغير السن يتولى قيادة منطقة واسعة وفيها قوميون منذ تأسيس الحزب وكلهم من اعمار كبيرة ولهم تاريخ طويل من النضال والعذاب والتضحية ،
وبالفعل احسستُ بهذه المفارقة وتكلمت معهم عنها وقلت لهم إنني احترم اعمارهم ومعظمهم بعمر والدي فكيف اكون مسؤولاً عليهم ، واجبت بأن القيادة اختارتني لهذه المهمة فتركت كل شيء كي اقوم بها وان هذا هو معنى وجودي بينكم وان ما يربطني بكم هو النظام الذي يعلو فوق كل الاعتبارات الشخصية ،
اضافة الى الاخلاق النضالية التي نتحلى بها جميعاً والعزيمة والتصميم كي ننهض بالحزب بعد السنوات الطويلة التي مررتم بها على اثر الانقلاب وما عانيتموه من اضطهاد وعذاب وتضحيات وبقيتم ثابتين على ايمانكم ونظامكم .
كانت الكورة مليئة بالفروع الحزبية ففيها اكثر من 25 مديرية كبيرة ومفوضية ، وكانت كلها تنشط في العمل الاداري وعندها طلاب وشباب بالمئات يتابعون الحلقات الاذاعية ، وهذا رتب علينا ان نقوم بجهد كبير لتأمين مذيعين لحوالى 23 حلقة اذاعية كل اسبوع ،
ولقد برز في هذا النشاط الاذاعي الناظر ناهض سليمان والرفيق الياس النجار وايلي نصار والياس بركات وفوزي بركات من بشمزين وجورج حنا قبرصي من بيترومين والرفيق وجيه الايوبي وشباب من كفريا من آل عدره ومرعي ، وآخرون كنا نعلمهم اساليب العمل الاذاعي كي يتولوا هذه المهام في المستقبل .
لم نكن نهدأ فمنذ الصباح الباكر تبدا جولاتنا ولا نعود الا مع انتصاف الليل ولم يكن عندي بيتٌ لأهلي فسكنت اولا في بيت اقارب لي وحمّلتُهم همي وقلقي ،
ثم دعاني الرفيق سمير سليمان لأقيم عنده في قريتنا ” قلحات ” المجاورة لدير البلمند الشهير ن واتذكر بالخير زوجته ثم والدته التي تنتظرنا كل ليلة الى ان نعود في ايام الشتاء الباردة لتؤمن لنا ما يلزم من حاجات ، ثم تخلد للراحة .
واحياناً كنت ابيت عند الرفيق فيلمون جبور في اميون حيث كانت له غرفة قرميد منفردة نوعاً ما فلا نزعج احداً ،
واذكر هنا بالخير ايضاً والدته ام نعيم التي تظل ساهرة الى ان اعود وعندما تسمع وقع خطواتي تفتح الباب الخشبي القديم وتندهني كي تطعمني شيئاً لئلا انام من دون عشاء .
بهذه المحبة كان الناس يحتضنون الحزب القومي ومناضليه وما زالوا الى اليوم على هذا الوفاء .
لم يكن عندنا مكتب في المنطقة فقدم الينا الرفيق ابو نبيل ابراهيم الخوري سعاده ، وهو شقيق الدكتور عبدالله سعاده ، غرفتين تقعان بجوار بيته في اميون جعلنا منهما مكتباً ومرجعا ادارياً للعمل ولعقد الجلسات والاجتماعات ،
ثم اتخذنا مركزاً آخر على تلة كفرحزير استأجرناه ببضع مئات من الليرات ، وفيه بهو كبير للاجتماعات وعدة غرف اصبحت مسكناً لي ولبعض الشباب الذي يناوبون على الحراسة معي ،
وكانت للبيت حديقة زرعناها بالخضار كنوع من الحياة القروية التقليدية ، لكن الاهم في ذلك البيت انه يقع على مشارف الوديان الممتدة نحو شكا وبرغون فصارت تشكل لنا مكاناً آمناً للتدريب العسكري بعيدا عن الانظار في الليالي .
وكان يتولى اعمال التدريب الامين خليل فارس والرفيق يوسف الايوبي الذي خرج من السجن اثر الانقلاب ثم عاد واستشهد في اول بداية الاحداث سنة 1975 ، كما لحقه الى الشهادة الامين خليل في تشرين من سنة 1986 ,
في تلك الفترة اعاد الحزب القومي اصدار جريدة ” البناء “ بشكل اسبوعي وكنا نوزع منها كل يوم سبت كمية كبيرة تصل الى 400 عدد ، كما كنا نقوم بنشاطات شعبية مشتركة مع منفذيات الشمال ،
وهي كانت ناشطة جداً ، ففي طرابلس كان يتولاها المحامي احمد هاشم ومعه زهير دبوسي واسماعيل بهجت وعبد الستار موسي والامين سليم صافي وفي المنية عبد القادر علم الدين وفي زغرتا بطرس العريجي و يوسف زيدان ونجيب اسكندر وجوزيف نكد،
وفي عكار الاستاذ ميشال الاشقر ومعه ابو عبود مطانيوس جريج والياس نصر وسليمان الورد وعبدالله وهبي ،
وفي البترون كان المنفذ بشارة الحاج ومعه ضاهر يزبك وفؤاد حرب و عبدالله زخريا وعبد السلام الايوبي وكثيرون منهم قد منحوا لاحقا رتبة الامانة عن جدارة واستحقاق .
اقف اليوم متذكرا تلك الايام والناس الطيبين المناضلين الشرفاء الاوفياء واتمنى ان اذكر اسماءهم وانشر صورهم مع نبذة عن كل واحد منهم ، لكن المجال هنا لا يتسع بل ربما اذا اصدرتُ كتاباً لهذه الذكريات استطيع ان اضع بعضا من صورهم وكلمات تفيهم حقهم بالذكر والخلود .
هكذا نحن عابرون في موكب الحياة والنهضة القومية وستأتي بعدنا اجيالٌ تكمل المسيرة حتى تحقيق الاهداف السامية لهذا الحزب الذي تحدى التاريخ وقال انه سيغير وجهه ويبني تاريخاً جديدا راقياً للأمة وللعالم العربي ومستقبلاً سلامياً للإنسانية جمعاء .

Beirut and Haifa: They used to be twin cities, before Israel was created to block daily communication
Note: This is a re-edit of “Tales of Twin Cities: Beirut and Haifa (April 1, 2009)”
By the year 1933, the city of Haifa was the main magnet for the Levant people (Lebanese and Syrians) and Iraqis.
A railroad linked Haifa to Egypt, Damascus and to the Hijjaz (Mecca) in the Arabic Peninsula (Now called Saudi Kingdom).
A pipeline was exporting half of Iraq’s production toward Europe. A modern port was the main export location of Syria’s wheat and grain to Europe. A new oil refinery was installed. Haifa was the most prosperous and promising destination for the Lebanese.
Many streets were named after Lebanese towns and cities. Anywhere you walked the stores had common Lebanese family names. The Maronite Selim Khoury from Bkaseen (a town by Jezzine) was considered the richest in Palestine; he instituted a modern silk factory and many laborers from Lebanon flocked there.
The families of Bustros, Sursok, and Tuweiny owned half the fertile plains in Galilee ( of about 180 square kilometers). Suleiman Nassif had exclusivity on thermal pools. (These families sold their lands to the Zionists in order to establish their political foothold in Lebanon)
The CAT Company, a building contractor, erected series of houses outside Acre’ s walls.
Lebanese educators and intellectuals taught there.
The famous lawyer, Wadi3 Bustani was the special counselor to the British Governor Colonel Stanton. Dailies were created. Haifa was like Qatar and Dubai today for the Lebanese emigrants; they were welcomed and needed to absorb the fast pace economic explosion.
Then, in 1948, the infamous Zionist State was created by a majority of a single vote in the UN (when most countries didn’t yet enjoy “independence” from the colonial powers).
The administrations of the USA, France, and Britain wanted to get rid of the Jews in their midst. The monster Stalin stupidly believed that Israel would be the first communist State in the Middle East.
The tide turned and the Palestinians flocked to Lebanon.
The prosperous and educated Palestinian refugees headed to Beirut. What the English and USA governments could not do in Lebanon was done by the Palestinians: the English language spread and prospered. The American University in Beirut got a new lease on life; most of the Arabs in the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq studied in Beirut.
In fact, the most powerful bank in the Middle-East and based in Lebanon Intra was owned by a Palestinian Bidass. USA and Israel wanted to bankrupt this bank and ordered the Central Bank to cut off liquidity for the bank, though it had far more assets that the depositors needed.
The port of Beirut was modernized and expanded and replaced Haifa; oil pipelines and refineries were installed in Lebanon, most of the land transit passed through the port of Beirut.
South Lebanon was transformed into a vast garden of orange and apple orchards thanks to the expertise of the cultivators of Jaffa (Yafa).
The financial institutions in Beirut flourished. The insurance businesses got foothold. Even today, most of the insurance executives are of Palestinian origins. Folk dancing, songs, theaters were initiated by Palestinian artists.
The rich Palestinian Christians were offered the Lebanese citizenship. The poor Palestinian Christian refugees were installed in camps in Christian districts such as the camps of Jisr Basha, Dbaiyeh, and Mar Elias. The Palestinian Moslems were distributed in camps all over Lebanon.
These inexpensive Palestinian workmen were the main backbone for the emerging small and medium industries and in agriculture (currently replaced by Syrians refugees); until the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) disturbed the entire structure when it installed its headquarters in Beirut in 1969.
During the civil war that started in 1975, all the Christian Palestinian camps were overturned by the Lebanese Christian militias and the surviving refugees expelled from the Christian regions or cantons.
The PLO was forced to vacate Lebanon in 1982 and the Palestinian workforce was replaced by Syrians and the Palestinian refugees were confined to their camps; they experienced renewed constraints on work permits and selective jobs and restraining labor licenses.
Since time immemorial, the southern Lebanese seaport of Tyr was the administrative center for the entire region extending to beyond Haifa, Mount Carmel, and including upper Galilee.
Under normal circumstances, the coastal zone from Tyr to Haifa could have been the largest Megalopolis on the Mediterranean Sea.
The newly created apartheid Zionist State disrupted all kinds of major development in the region and blocked the daily trade and communication among the same people..
Note 1: I am reading the interesting Arabic/Lebanese book “This Life, my Sweetheart” (Ya Dunia, ya Gharamy) by Ussama El Aref. One of its chapters inspired the theme of this article.
Note 2: After the Second World War, Germany welcomed the Kurdish workforce, arriving by train with fanfare and official bands, because it needed badly to reconstruct the country. Germany thinks that it finished reconstruction and has no idea how to repatriate the Kurds of Turkey.
Germany is offering to finance private enterprises in the Kurdish region for any Kurdish family willing to return. The catch is: would anyone Not feeling secure and safe in his homeland return? Would Germany re-welcome any Kurds if political conditions deteriorate?

Europe was wracked with terror attacks for 2 decades in the 1960’s.
The world was wracked with terror attacks for 3 decades after 1980, before Da3esh (ISIS) was established.
Africa was wracked with the most violent of attacks by enrolling children in their armies and forcing them to kill their parents as sign of allegiance.The USA was mainly behind all these crimes against humanity
Singling Da3esh (ISIS) is a strong message that the USA is sticking to its strategy of destabilizing the Middle-East.
The death toll in Gaza surged. According to Palestinian officials, a family of 8 was killed in Israeli airstrikes, bringing the total number of deaths to 32 since both sides started exchanging fire on Nov. 12, following a targeted killing in Gaza. There have been (officially) no Israeli deaths so far.
Actually, every Friday in the last year, Palestinians in Gaza have been marching to the borders as their UN rights to Return home. Israel has been sniping and had killed hundred so far and many thousands have been injured and crippled.

وماذا عن استرداد نياشين الاستقلال المنهوبة ومنحها لمستحقيها؟
قال السفير البريطاني الجنرال سبيرز لصديقيه الرئيسين بشارة الخوري ورياض الصلح :”اعلنوا الاستقلال والباقي علي”.وسمعا الكلمة،باعتبار ان القائل يمثل الدولة،ليس فقط التي لا تغيب الشمس عن مستعمراتها ، بل أيضا التي تساعد الحكومة الفرنسية لتحرير فرنسا من الاحتلال الالماني .
رد المحتل الفرنسي باعتقال الشيخ والبيك وبعض الوزراء والسياسيين أمثال عبدالحميد كرامي في 11 تشرين الثاني 1943، ونقلهم من منازلهم الى بيت خالتهم في قلعة راشيا الوادي،حيث كان مسجونا ثلاثة من أركان الحزب السوري القومي الاجتماعي بعدة تهم أولها “عداوتهم” لاستقلال لبنان :جبران جريج،زكريا اللبابيدي،أنيس فاخوري.
اعتصم بعض الوزراء الذين لم يعتقلوا في بشامون،بحماية الحرس الوطني بقيادة القومي أديب البعيني وعشرات المقاتلين القوميين أمثال سعيد فخر الدين وأمين سري الدين وشفيق نور الدين،المتهمين مع قائدهم ب “العداء” للبنان واستقلاله.
ومنذ اعتقال”الدولة” في راشيا حتى الافراج عنها،قام الفرسان الثلاثة بقيادة جبران جريج ،بتزويدها بكل ما يجري في بيروت وبشامون وعموم لبنان ما ضاعف من عزيمة البعض، وقلل من انهيار البعض الاخر.وفي محيط بشامون،وتحديدا في عين عنوب،جابه المتطوعون القوميون القوة الفرنسية المصفحة ،فاستشهد سعيد فخر الدين .
نفذ الجنرال الدبلوماسي ما وعد به،حيث حددت دولته للدولة الفرنسية بعد ظهر يوم 22 ت2 موعدا اللافراج عن “الدولة” اللبنانية.فأفرج عن “أبطال الاستقلال” قبل ظهر اليوم المحدد. وبالمناسبة،فإن أحد المعتقلين وهو عبد الحميد كرامي لم يدع البطولة،حيث قال: “الفرنسيون اعتقلونا والبريطانيون أعتقونا”.
وفي 22 تشرين الثاني 1945،نصب سرادق كبير في ساحة الشهداء ،ووزعت “مدالية الجهاد الوطني” على مئات الشخصيات والمؤسسات الحزبية ،التي ساند بعضها الاحتلال ،فيما نوضر البعض الاخر على المظاهرات والمعركة العينعنوبية،أمثال حزبي الكتائب والنجادة والمطران مبارك وصبري حمادة ونقولا بسترس والعقيدين منصور لحود وخطار حيدر.وبالطبع،حجبت عن الحزب القومي ومقاتليه والشهيد الوحيد الذي سقط في المعركة _سقط بعض الشهداء في المظاهرات_سعيد فخر الدين.وبعد مرور حوالى عامين على الفضيحة، منح الشهيد سعيد المدالية.
لست أدري اذا نال القبضاي البيروتي أبو عفيف كريدية المدالية، باعتباره أحد مفاتيح رياض الصلح الانتخابية.ولكني أدري انه رافق البيك خلال زيارته لسبيرز الذي سأله مداعبا:صحيح انك ضد الاستقلال؟فأجابه:شوف مون جننار،محسوبك أبو عفيف تحت أمر شوارب الاصطئلال!
