Putin knew that Ukraine will be out, simply because Russia will inevitable destroy all USA military installations in Ukraine: No roulette is such a case.

Putin decided on a nibbling strategy that would Not drive USA hysterical and force his hands in retreating his forces. Trump presidency came in handy for any forceful responses on Putin

Putin reacted by invading Chechnya, Crimea and many parts of Georgia and parts of Ukraine… and backed Syria

The USA knew that China is backing Russia financially for him to launch military expeditions without much of an economic foundation.

Putin decided that China is a better strategic partner.

Beside, Germany is umbilically linked economically with Russia and will circumvent any economic sanctions, as it circumvented many other sanctions on other States.

USA scenario came too late for any kinds of roulette game.

The consequence will be a diplomatic arrangement among USA, EU, Russia and China in order to deviate any serious military confrontation that is forced upon them by economic balance sheet going hayward.

Note: The initial military plan was to “neutralize” all the regions east of the Dnieper River and control the last Ukrainian port on the Black Sea

Apparently, after destroying all the airfields and missile silos, the Ukraine army retreated haphazardly and Russia opted for a new opportunity: a political structure change over in Ukraine, and thus advanced toward the Capital Kiev.

Mind you that Ukraine is the richest nation in Europe in all kind of mineral resources and foodstuff. If Russia take control of Ukraine, it will control the basic economic sources of the EU.

La montagne est rongée de maisons comme un chancre.

Le dernier potier de Beit Chabab, Faouzi est mort cet hiver. Faouzi allait en mars recueillir sa glaise pour fabriquer les poteries. Ce mois ne sera plus qu’un rendez-vous manqué.

Mais le mont Sannine a recouvré ses neiges et, l’Epiphanie passée, je viens voir si la nuit a tenu sa promesse, si la pâte a poussé.

L’avenir se tait, dystopique en Europe, qu’à l’aveugle nous suivons.

Ignorant que le progrès file un mauvais coton. Au Liban, nous sommes riches d’être peu développés.

« Jouer le jeu » qu’ils disent. Mais qui écrit les règles ?

« Il faut croire en la science ». Justement. Condamnés à jouer les Cassandre dans un monde qui s’en fout.

Un jour prochain, ta fille mettra ma robe de baptême et nous irons à Bentaël, où ton aïeul officiait. Par les terrasses de roses et d’oliviers, ceintes par le bleu de la mer, nous irons à Mar Mema où il est enterré.

إستعمل الفرس والمغول والأتراك والمماليك كلمة “خان” للدلالة على الإمبراطور أو
السلطان، فأخذت تضاف إلى إسم الحاكم،

ثم أصبحت الكلمة تعني مجموعة حوانيت وأطلقت
في العهدين المملوكي والعثماني على المركز التجاري أو السوق،

كما أصبحت تطلق على
الفندق، وشاعت هذه اللفظة بين العرب.
كما صارت الكلمة تطلق على المكان بصيغة “خانه” خاصة مراكز العمل.

فإسم ساحة الشهداء
قديماً كان طوبخانه حيث أن كلمة “طوب” تعني المدفع (روى الأمير حيدر بأن المراكب
الروسية رمت على بيروت عشرين ألف «كلّة» مدفع بمدة ثمانية أيام ولم يصب عمارتها
الضرر الكبير.

ثم أخرج الاسطول الروسي مدافعه الى البر ونصبها في ساحة الشهداء الحالية
والتي سمّيت في حينه بسهلة الطوبخانة)،

ودفترخانه كان مكان تسجيل العقارات وغيرها (مثل
الدوائر العقارية اليوم)،

وخسته خانه هو مكان أو مسكن المريض (مستشفى) كالخسته خانه
الشاهانية (المستشفى العسكري) في بيروت وكانت مكان مبنى مجلس الإنماء والإعمار قرب
السرايا الحكومية.

أما “أجزخانه” فهي الصيدلية حيث لم يضع العرب كلمة مستقلة لفن تركيب
الدواء واكتفوا بكلمة أجزاء أو مفردات فأخذها الأتراك واكتفوا باستعمال كلمة أجزاخانه (اما
كلمة صيدلة فدخيلة من الفارسية).

كذلك كانت كلمة “ديوانخانه” فكانت تشير إلى الدار العلوية
في القصور القديمة وتشتمل على إيوان وثلاثة مربعات يصعد إليها بسلم حجري،

و”دباغخانه”
كانت لمركز الدباغة،

و”سلخانه” هي المسلخ، ومهندس خانه مدرسة تعليم الهندسة، وكازخانه
مكان تجميع الوقود، وغيرها كثير.
الخان لفظة فارسية تعني المنزل أو مكان مبيت المسافرين وقوافل التجار،

ويمكن اعتبارها
فنادق العصور القديمة. عرفت بيروت قديماً عدداً لا يستهان به من الخانات تركز معظمها في
منطقة المرفأ والأسواق القديمة وساحة البرج،

أكثرها تم تشييده خلال فترة حكم الدولة العثمانية
وذلك لوقوعها على الطرق التجارية وكمحطة لقوافل الحج الوافدة من الشمال إلى الديار
المقدسة في فلسطين أو الحجاز.
وأقدم خان أنشئ في العصر الإسلامي، الخان الذي بناه الخليفة الأموي هشام بن عبد الملك عام
109هجري – 728 ميلادي، على مقربة من قصر الحير الغربي في البادية السورية،

وقد نقش
على ساكف بوابته كتابة تذكر اسم المعماري (ثابت بن أبي ثابت) والتاريخ 109 هجري. وقد
حفظت في المتحف الوطني بدمشق.

أما أقدم خانات بيروت فكان من العصر المملوكي يعرف
بخان تنكز على اسم نائب الشام من قبل السلطان الناصر محمد بن قلاوون،

كما ذكر المؤرخ
صالح بن يحيى في تاريخ بيروت. وكان عدد من هذه الخانات يتميز بزخارف
