Our clown show is ready to travel to Tunisia. On Saturday we were fortunate enough to try it out and perform in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon.

We performed two times. The first was mostly for women and very few kids.

We arrived and my first thought was… “ who am I gonna get married to today?”

There was no men around for marriage skit.

In my “marriage skit” I always pick men for marriage. But then I thought what a great opportunity (on so many different levels) to get married to a woman today. To broaden my and everyone else’s horizons.

I picked Fatmeh. Or I should say she picked me. As soon as I got on stage and started making sounds with my slide whistle, and interacting with the audience, she started laughing out loud.

I asked her to come on stage and we had the best interaction ever.

Then the clowns through this amazing “Zaffe” like usual (the ceremony of getting wed), during which Fatmeh looked at me with a big smile and said “ did you know that I’m a widow? You just made me a very happy person now”.

This is a love story that I will keep forever in my clown heart.
