“How do you feel?” (Jan. 30, 2010)

A friend asked me one of his frequently mindless questions: “How do you feel?”  I said “I am feeling my shit sexy.” Usually, I say what I mean.  After my glamorous bowel movement, I had lunch and then had a long walk, and then I read and wrote and I still felt the effects of my bowel movement.  Three hours later, I am feeling this lovely pain in my guts; a sensation that I had emptied a huge load with the accompanying pressures on my mind. I had siesta and felt this sexy pain. Satisfying bowel movement is the greatest achievement among my daily tasks.

My friend was appalled by my incomprehensible reply and said: “I was under the impression that you are totally broke to indulge in luxury.”  I like to invent new expressions and terminologies in English: I was not born and raised in an authentic English speaking country.  I was saved from memorizing and regurgitating boring idioms; I am not up-to-date on the latest slangs.  I have got to do with the classics; more so that I was never in linguistics, anthropology, or ethnology fields of study.

It was during one of these sensational feelings that Barak Obama was elected President.  You might heave a sigh of dejection but it is not just a coincidence. I don’t like certified crazy Bush Junior, that President who never set foot on “foreign soils” before he was elected also “President”, though he enjoyed the same moments of sensation. If you do the probability math you might realize that the odds are actually pretty high for coincidence of shitting sensations and catastrophic events.  I can confirm that the odds were a certainty that Martin Luther King and Malcom X would be assassinated.

What is this?  When I am ecstatic I cannot think; when I am morose I cannot think. I have to induce that I think when I am in a lukewarm temperament. Thus, “Not Thinking” and extreme mood zones are highly correlated; thinking and tasteless moods are thus pretty much independent: it is a firm deductive result; you might think, you might not think (same different), what you are thinking do not make sense, or your thinking can be revolutionary verging to lunacy.

Just to tell you that physical exigency is a fundamental factor to your mental output. I sometimes wonder at critics psychoanalyzing authors by their books.  If critics are honest then they should comprehend a book was mostly “excreted” during lukewarm mood periods; thus, psychoanalysis is not valid in these cases: the author should be observed in “a not thinking” instances. Critics believe that authors basically lie down on comfortable coach, talk to themselves and record their babbling; critics get in the skin of relaxed a author who is figuring out that audiences have sworn the oath of confidentiality as his mental shrink.  I don’t usually go off on tangents but it feels good.

Law of silence: CIA; (Oct. 28, 2009)

On September 18, seven ex-CIA chiefs exhorted President Barak Obama to emulate former Presidents and cover up the serious infringements to laws and regulations.

The CIA and FBI during the two Bush Junior Administrations committed excesses by the operators in anti-terrorist interrogations; the CIA chiefs claim that opening public investigation may jeopardize State security.

Brigadier General John Magruder has stated the objective of the CIA by 1947: “Clandestine operations constantly implicate infringement of internal laws and regulations. The Pentagon and the State Department cannot take risks for covering such operations.  A new service for clandestine actions has to take charge for covering up the official institutions.”

This statement is fundamentally the main reason for establishing the CIA: it was meant to execute unlawful orders and decisions taken by the Executive Administrations.

Allen Dulles, chief of the “Agency” from 1953 to 61, confirm the doctrine that the “CIA is to execute what the President authorizes it in the wide gamut of political assassinations and destabilization of countries. The CIA main job is to cover for the President; all plausible denials should be extended to cover the involvement of the President in the decision process.  Thus, the President can securely admit that he ignored any failed operations overseas.”

John Prados noted: “Thirty years ago the public perception of the CIA was of a lone and solitary elephant that escaped all kinds of control; that the CIA was running amuck with clandestine operations all over the world.  It is now clear that the Agency and its phalanges were just following presidential orders.  It is the Presidency that is the lone elephant because the Agency was not doing its publicly declared mission of providing intelligence to the President.  All the revealed documents show that Presidents had no intelligence of the imminent coming to power of Khomeini in Iran in 1979, the potential disintegration of the Soviet Union, or the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers.”

Gordon Thomas said: “The Agency never managed to implant a spy in the higher circles of the Soviet Union decision makers. Bill Casey just took the risk of misinforming Ronald Reagan and systematically overestimated whatever intelligence he had”

At every new Presidency, the CIA got worse in control and management: it was overwhelmed by paramilitary operations than doing intelligence gathering; intelligence was thus relegated to non-human operators of remote control data from satellites and computer processing of images.

The newly sacked CIA chief Porter Goss pronounced an allocution at Tiffin University and gave a sound counsel to new recruits “Never admit, deny everything, and take the best strategy of launching counter accusations when targeted within the CIA and the political circles.”

The engraved motto of the CIA at Langley is St. John pronouncement “And you will know truth and truth will set you free”.

Apparently, to setting you free to assassinate and get away with it; to lie on State interests and get away with it; to cover up Evil Presidents and Administrations who follow orders from lobbying powerful interest groups.

The US had agreed to finance the Nile dam during Nasser but reneged on the deal. It was learned later that the lobby of the cotton producers in the US South put the squeeze on the ground that Egypt would later compete with US cotton.  The Soviet Union was invited to Egypt and many other regions.

The CIA and FBI think that they can get away with a lot of crimes on the premise that the US citizen believes that intelligence gathering cannot be performed without breaking a couple of eggs in a democratic society in order to preserve citizen from further hardship and secure him more liberty.

It is becoming evident that the more power you let a government gets the less liberty you should expect.  If the last eight years did not exhibit this fact then do not blame anyone for further slavery and totalitarianism.

It is a good thing to have more than two superpowers: extreme fundamentalism (i.e., religious and liberal capitalism) would be checked, cultural life would rejuvenate and people would enjoy more opportunities and choices instead of a gigantic financial crisis and global mass ignorance floating all over our planet.

Iraq, Iraqis:  How wounded are you?! (Oct. 29, 2009)

Iraqis, your government palaces and institutions are being targeted. Three days ago, two blasts in Baghdad in front of the Justice Palace and the mayor headquarter killed 160 and injured over 550 civilians.  Three weeks ago, two blasts in front of the Foreign Ministry and the Treasury in Baghdad killed 100 and injured over 200 injured. Crimes against humanity are prevalent in Iraq on a daily basis.  The enemy wants the Iraqi people to kneel and cry “Uncle”.

Iraqis, you must have realized that the periods of least casualties among you were when you focused your attacks on the occupier. Why?  Because the occupier had to invest time and energy safeguarding his soldiers instead of leisurely planning suicide terrorist attacks on your civilians in order to divide and rule.  Your best strategy to maintaining your internal security and stability is to re-focus your operations against the occupier.  The occupier does not need to wait till 2011; he will vacate much sooner with your determination to fight him; not only will the soldiers of the occupying forces get out but also every servicemen, military or civilian personnel.

Iraqis, how wounded are you?  Have you learned the latest under-estimated statistics on your state of affairs? Do you know that over one million mothers are widowed?  Do you know that over two millions are orphaned, one million are counted as disappeared, one million are dead since the pre-emptive war in 2003, and 1.5 milions have immigrated?

Iraqis, you must have realized in the last six years that occupier main objective is to spread chaos; he needs the Chiaas and Sunnis to massacre one another and create the monster of sectarianism to its zenith. The occupier wants feudal and tribal sentiments to resurface to divide your country into uncontrolled parcels of islands where Iraqis would fail to communicate and interrelate.

Iraqis, how wounded are you?  Do you know that entire regions are environmental catastrophe for dumping oil in valleys and incinerating toxic materials?  Do you know that your oil production was used for three years to re-construct fictitious infrastructures that are nowhere to be found?

Iraqis, you are told that these terrorist attacks are the work of Al Qaeda; that is a lie. Al Qaeda is no longer an independent and parallel movement: it is totally controlled by regional powers. The regional powers under the mercy of the USA receive direct orders from the CIA to activate the splintered sections of Al Qaeda.

Iraqis, you are told that terrorist attacks are the work of regional powers on your border; that is another lie.  The regional powers on your border have hundreds of other tactics to influence and pressure political outcomes; it is not in their interests to destabilize Iraq by fomenting civil unrests while the main occupier is on the field and by the tens of thousands.

Iraqis, it is about time that you realize that the Northern Middle East Block (of Turkey, Syria, and Iran) is in its latest stages of formation. Iraq is the weakest and most strategic link; this block is waiting for the US forces to vacate Iraq and the sooner the better. The Northern block is the surest guarantee for the security and stability of Iraq.  Saudi Arabia and Armenia have already realized the inevitable strategic block and are changing their policies to align with this strategic and economic block.

Iraqis, how wounded are you?  You must already know that in the first year of occupation more than one thousand Iraqi scientists and intellectuals were assassinated and counted as disappeared. You don’t want this wave of assassinating to target every educated Iraqi and to set fear and apprehension in the younger generation. The nasty and greedy occupier has to go soon, everyone of them, and this will never happen until you chase him out of your land, by any means available.

Iraqis, do not be fooled that Barak Obama is to come to your aid; he is continuing the foreign policies of Bush Junior in their integrality.  Do not be fooled that Obama is ignorant of the CIA operations for destabilizing Iraq’s society:  the CIA is fundamentally the clandestine operator of the President’s decisions.

Turkey, Iran, and Syria have all the interests in a stable and secure Iraq.  It is up to you Iraqi to prove that you hate the occupier and you want him out today.  As long as the occupier is in your land then it is your right and honor to resume attacking him to shorten his stay; the occupier will then start respecting your independence and your determination as a free people who wants his share of dignity under the bright sun.

What that! Nobel Prize for Passivity? (October 17, 2009)

A new Nobel Prize is created!  The criteria are no longer life-time award for active fight on famine, diseases, human rights, establishing international organizations for caring to the wounded fallen on battle fields (Red Cross), catering to the lowest castes of humanity, coming to the scour of human dignity buffeted and trampled by the blood sucking “mosquitoes”.  Nobel Peace Prize has changed criterion: it is awarded to new political leaders to encourage them to work toward peace; a sort of pre-emptive incentive hoping that the dangled “bait” might promote peace more effectively than waiting for actual deeds.

What that? He is barely 9 months in office and nothing tangible to show and account for that he might be a potential “peace loving” leader.  Was Barak Obama awarded the most honored Peace prize for canceling the “offensive missile shield” in Europe simply because the US can no longer afford extra expenses and China refused to cough up the dough? Was Obama rewarded in exchange of Brazil being selected as the next soccer Olympic site?  Was Obama awarded this prestigious prize for voting NO to the discussion of the report on crimes against humanity committed in Gaza? Was Obama rewarded for increasing troops in Afghanistan (over 40,000 soldiers) since he came to power?  Was Obama rewarded this life-time achieving work for failing to put a hold on further Israeli expansion on lands not its own?

Is the Nobel committee too lax and anxious to debase the value of Peace Prizes?  I sit lacking worthy nominees and opting for the last come first served candidates?

What that?  How come the Peace Prize has become exclusively awarded to political leaders?  Why all these political leaders were selected from among those who signed “peace treaties” on the White House Lawn (blue, rose, green, I forgot, but never white) before waiting for the proper execution of the terms of the peace contracts?  Began and Sadate were awarded this prize and then Begin started his pre-emptive war on Lebanon in 1982 and Sadate encouraged the civil war in Lebanon to go on indefinitely. Arafat and Rabin were awarded the same prize and then all the peace process terms were freezed and canceled by successive Israeli leaders.

The Norwegian Nobel committee, used to award “Peace Prizes” for personalities who contributed greatly to communicating the spirit of peace and actively working toward instituting peace around the world and in their communities; the decisions have been politicizing: they contributed to lavishing this prize to totally undeserving individuals of war criminals and criminals against humanity. The latest of awardees is Israel President Simon Perez who said lately: “Israel can protect its babies against Gaza babies” and who participated in the decision making to perpetrate genocide on the Palestinian civilians in Gaza and shelled the UN peace keeping forces in Qana Lebanon in 1986 killing 120 civilians and double in severe casualties.  Many deserving Nobel Peace Prize awardees signed a petition saying that they feel ashamed that Peres was awarded such an honorable prize.

The Norwegian committee has awarded this prize to Kissinger, the US Secretary of State under Nixon who prosecuted the Viet Nam war until it was a losing case; Kissinger is the one who planned and prosecuted the Lebanese civil war in conjunction with Sadate of Egypt.

What that? Any President to the US after Bush Junior could have gotten this award!  Should this prize be extended to the American people simply because they got tired of all the Bush Junior Administration nonsense and for witnessing the worst world financial crash?

I suggest that the Nobel Peace Prize be split into two prizes: the life-time social activists for human peace and the most passive political leader who refrained from interfering in other states affairs. It is the responsibly of the Norwegian government or its Parliament to strip the names of those who won these prizes and then proven to be undeserving from the list of this Hall of Fame or we will label this list the Hall of Shame!

Diary of a war in Lebanon (July 15 to August 15, 2006)

July 15. 2006

The sixth war between Israel and Lebanon (as our news media labeled it) started on June 12, 2006.

For 3 days Israel has been pounding all of Lebanon for the lame excuses that the Islamic Lebanese Resistance of Hezbollah was successful in taking two Israeli soldiers as prisoners.

Mind you that Hezbollah had warned everyone for many months and at several occasions that it is in the process of planning to capture Israeli soldiers in order to exchange them with Lebanese prisoners.

The problem is that the well planned “adventure” (as labelled by Lebanon Seniora PM and Saudi Arabia monarchy) did not go as smoothly and as expected and it resulted in the destruction of two Israeli tanks and many Israeli soldiers dead.

Apparently, Israel’s Olmert PM is not now in the mood of negotiating with Hezbollah for the mutual release of prisoners as former Sharon PM has done last year.

Israel has the total backing of George W Bush to punish Lebanon with extreme vengeance for failing to promptly satisfy his strategic plans in the greater Middle East.

Bush Junior also wants to revenge the more than 200 US soldiers who perished in 1983 by a Hezbollah suicide car bombing around Beirut airport.  Hezbollah has just been created a couple of months ago to resist Israeli occupation of Lebanon.

Israel had started its invasion of Lebanon in 1982 and went as far as entered our Capital Beirut. The occupying Israeli force remained in Lebanon till 2000.

Yesterday, my mother started to speak to herself, at my ear shot, that we need to withdraw some cash for emergency and secure supplies for a protracted war.

Within an hour, I drove and withdrew more than my usual amount of cash and stopped at the Wooden Bakery around 11: 15 am for bread: there was none left.

There were promises that more supplies of bread would be forthcoming by noon. I continued and parked on the street instead of the overflowing parking lot of Storiom’s supermarket.  There were no carriages left and I picked up a hand held basket instead just for a loaf of bread:  the supermarket was jammed with customers in the cashiers lines, their carriages filed with two months supplies.  I felt a wave of disgust and left immediately.

On my way out, a lady told me that there is no milk on the shelves and certainly no bread of any kind.

I resumed my trip to Bekfaya to a shop that sells purely Lebanese food ingredients at affordable prices and bought three bags of white bread because brown breads were scarce, cheap olive, small white beans because the large beans were three times more expensive, two kilos of sugar, a kilo of “kishk”, some white hot pepper.

I continued to the vegetable and fruit market where on Sundays I usually buy in bulk for our extended family of eleven persons; the market was jammed and no price tags were attached to the stands; prices have at least doubled and no one was asking for prices anymore.  I refused to wait and did not buy anything.

The road to Bekfaya coming from Antelias was unusually busy: streams of cars driving fast were heading up to the mountain and I was told that they were going to Zahle and Chtoura toward the Syrian border at Masnaa.

Israel has finally decided to bomb the main highway to the Syrian border through the town of Sawfar; fleeing people were borrowing the next best route.

On the first day of war, my nephew Cedric came home mightily upset:  he is graduating in hotel management and the tourism season was completely shot and the tourists were evacuating Lebanon in drove.

Cedric initially blamed Hezbollah for that catastrophe but as Israel was decidedly going ahead with its destruction of Lebanon’s infrastructure he relented.  It is a common behavior for people to blame the weaker party in any conflict for mass destruction as if Hezbollah is the one party who destroyed the airport, the electrical utilities, the maritime ports and the main highways.
