Turkey: A Regional Power out of hibernation (February 2, 2009)
Erdogan, Turkey’s PM is undeniably the most powerful leader criticizing the Zionist State for its genocide in Gaza. Turkey, under Erdogan, is currently more powerful than the whole of Europe in the Near East for establishing peace, stability and equitable political resolutions. Turkey is a self sufficient independent Nation and has ruled the whole Middle East for four centuries. Turkey has awakened from a long hibernation and decided to be a major regional power broker.
For over seven decades, Turkey was the main effective ally to the US in the region during the cold war with the former Soviet Union, had turned its back to the Arab problems, and allied to the State of Israel. Things are changing fast after the horrors of Gaza and the tearing down of the mask of the Zionist ideology of terror, expansion, and apartheid. The so-called “moderate” Arab States of Egypt and Saudi Arabia are cowering down and taken by surprise to the emergence of the new revitalized Turkey.
Turkey is demanding and acting as the main power broker in the Near East because it has interest in the stability of Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq. So far, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq were peons for the larger policies of the US, Europe, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia in the Middle East. Turkey’s current policies beg to differ: “no more war zones at my borders and in my back yards”. The US and Israel must have understood the message clearly and loudly.
We are not hearing anymore about the Turkish war on the Kurdish self-autonomous movement. I wholeheartedly wish that negotiations are secretly and seriously underway with the Kurdish Workers’ Party for a peaceful resolution. The Kurdish problem was used by the USA and Israel to blackmail Turkey. I have a feeling that the Kurds in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran appreciate the new directions of Erdogan’s government and would find in Erdogan a viable interlocutor and would cooperate with Turkey to lighten up this heavy burden of a useless and fruitless civil war.
In December 18, 2004 I wrote a short article on Turkey and then four months ago published it on wordpress.com “A Regional power in the making”. I decided to re-post it.
Turkey is the new pivotal power in the Middle East in the coming decades. Turkey will be asked to exercise its beneficial influence in restoring peace, stability and economic prosperity in the region. It will inevitably join the European Union with the unavoidable important changes that Turkey will have to accept and undergo in matters of democracy, liberty, human rights and social and economical constraints.
This transformation of a powerful neighbor will transcend into a drastic transformation of the societies surrounding Turkey. The benefits are already materializing in closer ties with Syria, pressures on Israel to agree on a Palestinian State and greater normalization with Iran. Turkey is obviously the main power that can provide autonomy to the Kurdish nationalism spreading among Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran. Turkey is the main power that can efficiently check US imperialism in the Middle East and any resurgence of Russia militarism. Turkey prevented Bush Junior to invade Iraq through its territory; the US air base in Interlink was prohibited to launch air raids on Iraq. I have great hope in this new power amongst us, especially that the current Turkish government has proven to be far sighted and confident in its power and role in this region.
Since writing this excerpt Turkey felt the need to crawl in a cave and hibernate after surmounting the imminent obstacles to joining the European Union. Turkey thinks that it can relax for a while but it will quickly learn that it has to keep pace with the culture of Europe and to fight harder to catch up with lost time. Human rights problems are reemerging, demonstrations are being broken by brute force; its dialogue with Syria not much publicized except the frustration of Turkey of the US pressures not to return the diplomatic visit of its President to Syria.
Turkey’s involvement was badly needed in our current problems with the UN resolution 1559 and it failed in this critical moment to demonstrate its regional power.
Note: Europe must be appreciating the decision of Turkey to play a major in the Near East. A powerful and active Turkey should weight heavier in the decision process for joining the European Union. The frustrations of Turkey with the EU must have given it a clear hint of what its policies should be based on and where its focus should be directed to.
Senator George Mitchell dispatched with pre-conditions
The European envoys and leaders are talking with Palestinian Hamas and resistance factions though not publicly. George Mitchell is ordered not to meet with Hamas. If Obama and Hillary refuses to negotiate with Hamas who represents 65% of the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank then with whom Mitchell is to dialogue for a settlement of the Palestinian/Israeli crisis?
We, in the Middle East would like to assume that Mitchel trip is to present recommendations for opening direct negotiation with the Palestinian resistance movements. The Obama administration might need a fresh and current document to discuss the new phase after the gaza horrors before negotiating with Hamas; that is what we want to believe, otherwise Mitchel is set up for failure and he should know it.
I cannot help but to re-publish a previous article that is as current as it can be “A Walk in the Park for Barak Obama: Gaza (January 10, 2009)”
Within two weeks and single handedly, Bush Junior and Cheney have shredded the mask of Zionism. For a century, the Western establishments have tried restlessly to design a human mask for the Zionist movement because Zionist ideology suited their interests in the Middle East to perfection. The Western intelligence communities have studied and analyzed completely the characteristics of the Zionist movement and it was no mystery to them at all. Zionism was the ideal candidate to destabilize a region rich in oil and strategically located to hamper colonial commerce and exploitation of the India and the Far East if the Middle East region united to preserve their natural resources and behave as an independent and self autonomous people.
It has taken the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and the murder of 600 babies and the injury of 2,000 babies and the traumatizing of 600,000 babies to finally removing the tattered mask of Zionism and exposing the true ugly face of reality. The World Community and populations needed this crazy couple of Bush-Cheney to steadfastly believe that crime against humanity is good if it suit their goals; that blessing war crimes against human dignity is their prophetic calling. Yes, the New-Conservative, New-Born Baptist “Christians” finally succeeded to take revenge on the Jews who crucified their brand of “Jesus”; they must be feeling wonderfully good for this rebirth on the third millennia and at the expense of the “homeless” Palestinians.
Now that the little people all over the world know the fundamental barbarity and apartheid ideology of Zionism then it should be a walk in the park for President elect Obama to resolve the Palestinian/Israeli problems, if he wills it. If Obama refuses to resolve the Near East problems, then he might as well give the green light to his mercenary State of Israel to design a vast park of 300 square kilometers in Gaza so that Obama might enjoy a warmer location than Camp David. Either way, it all depends on what kind of a park Obama wishes to have in Gaza. The first drastic decision should be to open direct lines of negotiation with Hamas and the Palestinian resistance movements who represent over 65% of the votes.
Note: The true deservers of the Nobel Peace Prize have proclaimed their shame that Shimon Peres (Israel’ President) was also awarded this noble prize. Simon Peres declared that Israel can defend its babies from the Palestinian babies in Gaza.
“No mas” for Nobel Peace prizes

on:“No mas” for Nobel Peace prizes (January 15, 2009)
The Norwegian Nobel committee, for awarding “Peace Prizes” for personalities who contributed greatly to communicating the spirit of peace and actively working toward instituting peace around the world and in their communities, has been politicizing their policies which contributed to lavishing totally undeserving war criminals and criminals against humanity.
The latest of awardees is Israel president Simon Perez who said lately: “Israel can protect its babies against Gaza babies” and who participated in the decision making to perpetrate genocide on the Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Many deserving Nobel Peace Prize awardees signed a petition saying that they feel ashamed that Peres was awarded such an honorable prize.
The Norwegian committee has awarded this prize to Kissinger, the US Secretary of State under Nixon who prosecuted the Viet Nam war until it was a losing case; Kissinger is the one who planned and prosecuted the Lebanese civil war in conjunction with Sadat of Egypt.
Mind you that Sadat shared this honorable prize with Menahim Begin, the Zionist terrorists since 1920 and who became Prime Minister and invaded Lebanon in 1982 and entered the Capital Beirut.
Mind you that Arafat also shared this honorable prize with General Rabin, the Zionist Prime Minister who pre-empted the war in 1967 against Egypt and Syria and led terrorist activities against the Palestinians. Arafat cooperated with Sadat to set Lebanon afire for over 15 years.
What is it with Norway that it feels compelled to politicize the Nobel Peace Prize? What! Do I have to wage a pre-emptive war and then work out a flimsy peace negotiation in order to be awarded a peace prize? Do I have to be a Zionist zealot in order to increase my odds for being considered a worthy peace recipient?
What next? Are Bush Junior, Cheney, Olmert, Ehud Barak, Natanahu, Mubarak, and Condo potential candidates for Nobel Peace prizes? What next? Would Hilary Clinton and Barak Obama be the next candidates if they succeed to eliminate Hamas over the death of 1,000 babies and 5,000 injured Palestinians in Gaza? Would Mahmoud Abbass be awarded a Peace Nobel as a consolation prize? Would the Wahhabi Saudi monarch, the leader of the darkest and terrorist religious sect, be considered a serious candidate if he offered one billion dollars for the prize?
It is not enough to feel ashamed! It is the responsibly of the Norwegian government or its Parliament to strip the names of those who won these prizes and then proven to be undeserving from the list of this Hall of Fame or we will label this list the Hall of Shame!
China: the main Capitalist partner to the US (January 11, 2009)
“Communist” China is the largest accumulator of dollars with a reserve of two trillions or two third of its GNP. With such a reserve China is currently the main capitalist partner to the USA; China has interest that the dollar does not devalue, that its currency the Yuan does not increase in value which would make Chinese products less competitive, and that the financial system does not break down. “Communist” China is catching up quickly on Japan for the purchase of Treasury Bonds, a way of lending the US the needed cash to resume a Capitalist financial policy. China is not only the factory of the world but also the prime banker to the US.
The Chinese Wen Jiabao PM stated after the financial crash of Wall Street: “We have got to unite. In these difficult times, China has joined the USA. We believe that our financial rescue will aid at stabilizing the economy and world financial system and thus, preventing a major chaos. I believe that cooperation is indispensable”. China is expecting full cooperation of the US in erecting a new Capitalist system and it has more muscles than the European Union in enforcing the re-structuring of the financial system that would guarantee its investments in the USA that amount by the trillions of dollars.
Many of Chinese investments in the USA are in the red after the crash. The US multinationals that China invested heavily in have been saved with Chinese influx; Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were saved too. Lehman Brothers was not spared for reasons. The Bush Junior Administration had selected Lehman Brothers to artificially increase oil prices to $150 through speculation in order to hurt the ever voracious China in oil demands. China reacted vigorously. The world financial system was rotten and China demanded to cooperate in the timing of the crash if the US wanted China to stabilize the financial system after the crash. Lehman Brothers was the sacrificial messenger of the impending financial crash.
The financial strength of the US was based on the dollars as the universal currency in world economical exchange. Bretton Woods (in New Hampshire) agreements in 1944 on the financial rules consecrated the pivotal power of the dollars; the British economist John Maynard Keynes tried hard during this conference to create a new world currency the “Bancor” but the US imposed its hegemony. Since then “the US administrators could decide what they wanted and it was up to the rest of the world to pay up the deficit”; Treasury Secretary John Connally stated it clearly “The dollar is our currency, but it is your problem”.
In 1960, the French President De Gaulle denounced the “exorbitant privilege of the dollars”. Since the 1980’s investment capitals have been going into the USA and then the US multinationals would re-invest the borrowed capitals wherever they desired; 90% of US Treasury Bonds are purchased by foreign States. Nixon was very comfortable de-linking the dollars from the value of gold and the world had to go along with whatever the US Administrations thought was beneficial to the US regardless of the ultimate danger that exposed the world financial system.
Consequently, States opted to save the surpluses of their dollar in “Sovereign Funds” meant to purchase foreign companies and enhance the flux of technology and know how and the latest management and financial methods. In one decade, the weight of the dollars in the reserve of world exchange has decreased from 71% to less than 61%. Still, the currencies of the EU, China, and Japan are not that widely used and adopted to counterweight the power of the dollar in trade exchange; but the center of gravity is clearly shifting toward China.
President Elect Barak Obama wants to re-invigorate US economy with major State investment (with Chinese cash); he must be closely cooperating with the Chinese on the amount and ways of re-launching the US economy.
Note: The Chinese regime was mute on the atrocities committed in Gaza; apparently, China is not hot on matter of human rights and crimes of wars and does not want to open the Pandora Box of its own horror stories.
