To understand what a personal coach does is to understand what they don’t do.
In general, life coaches differ from therapists in 3 key ways:
- There is no professional boundary between coach and client. Unlike therapists—who usually decline to disclose much about their personal lives to their clients—most coaches go for a relatable, empathetic, informal approach. Some also use sharing about their lives and struggles online as a marketing tool. Your vibe, they say, attracts your tribe.
- They are future and goal-oriented. A life coach session generally doesn’t involve digging deep into your past to revisit childhood trauma. Instead, it’s more forward-looking: What can you do today, this week, this month to change your life for the better?
- Serious mental health issues—such as depression, anxiety, trauma, self harm, or addiction—are (in theory) not for life coaches to deal with. Professional standards dictate that coaches should refer out when these arise. But is there anyone checking they do that? Definitely not.
Brain select the most probable of your emotions in a context of your personal experiences of “What is this most likely in my past experience?
Emotions are not built into your brain at birth, like in a hard-wired circuit. They are just built as you live along.
Predictions are primal and the basis of every experience that you have. They are the basis of every action that you take.
In fact, predictions are what allow you to understand the words. Using past experience, your brain predicts and constructs your experience of the world, and always within current context.

Syria has the #1 reserves in gas and oil, inland and on the sea. The USA will spend $billions to maintain military bases in Syria and Iraq and keep supporting various terrorists factions to destabilize Syria. At the end, USA will pay the market price for every gallon it import. US institutions are hard-wired Not to contemplate fair and just negotiations.
Why USA never demanded Israel to conduct a single referendum on any one of major issues in the Middle-East? Like retaining the Golan Heights, Jerusalem as Capital or building Walls of Shames?

Reading keeps me sane. The time for enjoying a great book
Is still there, and always will be.
I always expect jewels on human relationship.
I like surprises which reveal feelings that I would never divulge
Either to a shrink or to anyone at my deathbed.
Feelings that reveal emotions I thought were my exclusive domain.
Puerile ideas that I would be ashamed to express,
Dangerous tendencies that I like to ignore.
The more I read, the more I am convinced that I am sane,
That everyone is sane given time to read as much,
That mankind shares every thought and emotion I can come up with.
Accepting that humbling knowledge needs time,
Time to reach a stage of vulnerability where life seems too complex,
For diminishing energy and forever growing dreams.
Run baby run, though you are sane and think otherwise.
Sink baby sink, though you are not much different than your neighbor.
Once I realized that all kinds of feelings are common to all,
What little work remained is a trifle to many.
It is a job you did all your life with no effort:
Acting normal.
Just act normal to all who cannot stand reading.
