An association of US universities decided to boycott Israel education institutions

The European Commission will boycott Israeli products from occupied Palestinian Territories on January 2014.

“If even one manager of an NGO expresses support for the boycott of Israel, or for divestment and sanctions, or the trial of Israeli soldiers in international military courts for war crimes, or opposes Israel’s status as a “Jewish state,” any donation made to that NGO by a “foreign entity” would be taxed at a rate of 45%.”

Quite ironic for those who consider Israel to be the ‘only democracy’ in the Middle East.

An association represented by more than 5,000 professors and researchers in the USA are protesting against the apartheid politics of Israel toward the Palestinians.

66% of the members of the American Studies Association (ASA) decided to boycott Israeli academic institutions.

The Association for Asian American Studies has taken this decision last April.

The French weekly Le Nouvel Observateur published this Dec. 16, 2013:

NEW YORK.

What’s the total wealth of French citizens?  In material added-value?

How much France is currently worth, stock and lock, land and citizens, in material added-value throughout the centuries?  The French weekly “Le Nouvel Observateur” published an account “Who possess France?”  The weekly estimated that France is worth a bit over 12 trillion Euro, about $14 trillion?  This is the national debt of the US. Which means, if the US possessed France, it could sell it piece-meal and pay off its entire debt!  The US has the expertise of purchasing decrepit a business, repackage it, and resell its asset one chunk at a time.

Indeed, who own France?  The French families own 76.5% of the wealth, the non-financial societies 15%, the financial enterprises over 5%, and the State about 3.5%.  The French households accumulated Real Estates valued at 6.5 trillion Euro.  For example, it is estimated that the average French family is valued to be richer than the German counterpart, but less than the English family.  What that mean?

It means that the French State and its communities failed to satisfy the housing requirements for its citizens:  Real Estate value doubled in the last decade, while the real added-value of doing business increased only by a third in the same period:  The GNP or internal brute production of France lagged far behind Germany and many other leading European States.  Germany is the leading exporter of material goods in Europe, far ahead of France.

Thus, while the French families were asleep, their conservative financial strategy doubled in a decade, but the French citizens are nowhere positioned to compete in the world market, except in selling their properties for the wealthiest around the world. In 2010, 62% of French household owned one or more properties.

France is subdivided into 180 million parcels.  The average mass agricultural land is about 75 hectares, and about only 5% are over 200 hectares.  A political decision kept the price of agricultural lands low:  Around 4,000 Euro per hectare, compared to 15,000 in Germany and 20,000 in England.

The French State is so indebted and needs a lot of liquidity that it has been selling most of what it possesses: highways, historical locations, sky resorts, publicly owned enterprises such as generating electicity… Most of these properties are supposedly purchased by local communities: As if the State is unable to maintain the properties, the communities could do the job!

Real Estates put on the market by the State, with value over 2 million Euro, are purchased by foreign investors 55% of the time.  It is estimated that the French State owns 10 billion Euro in Real Estates, land and building.

The French communities are actually in charge of over 43,000 historical monuments representing 40% of the total.  Private owners are in charge of maintaining 5,000 out of the 6,500 best Castles such as Cheverny, Chenonceaux, Usse, Villandry, Clos-Luce…

The billionnaires around the world are vying for the sunny locations on the Mediterranean Sea.  The billionnaires try their best to infringe on the rights of the public for free movement, especially on the public beaches, by setting nets with the lame excuse of protecting the beach from meduses or even setting security zones around their yachts and properties… The communities are watching and preventing these astute prespasses on public rights, guaranteed by law.

A Real Estate in France valued at over 4 million, one out of two owners are foreigners.  Real Estates valued at over 30 million are purchased by Saudis, Qataris, Chinese, and Russians.  The most beautiful Real Estates in the Cote d’Azur have a turnover rate every 7 years.  In the Capital Paris, it is the Italians who buy the luxury properties and hotels.

Nuclear power generation is far more expensive and less clean than traditional plants?

Are you aware that the UN International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA) was established for the sole purpose of encouraging the building of nuclear power generation?

Are you aware that the UN World Health Agency (Organization) is prohibited by explicit clauses from investigating nuclear health consequences and even keeping statistics on nuclear disaster fall-out?

Are you aware that nuclear power generation is far more expensive than traditional power plants?

For example, the cost per kWh was fictitiously lowered (twice less than what it should economically be) in order to encourage the politics of investing in nuclear power plants?

Actually, it is the tax payers who paid three times for the expenses of erecting nuclear power plants.

1. It is the States that paid for the research, infrastructure, decontamination, and shutting down old plants, after private owners exploited the plants for 30 years?

2. The MWh was set at about $40 while the effective cost is over $80?

3. The private nuclear providers are demanding that States raise the cost to $80 since they are crumbling under heavy deficit, three years before the Fukushima disaster.

Are you aware that nuclear power generation is far less “clean” in health and safety than traditional fossil plants?

The current statistics are demonstrating that 80% of kids who were exposed to Chernobyl melt down in 1986, hundreds of miles away, are suffering from long-term congenital malfunction, genetic mutations, cardiac symptoms, illnesses in the kidneys, liver, thyroid gland, immunity system, nervous malfunctions, cataracts, hydrocephalus…

Over two million kids will necessitate treatment till the year 2016; only 40 out of 5,600 kids in a radius of 30 kilometers of Chernobyl are not categorized as victim of the nuclear melt down?

Are you aware of the effective cost of investing in nuclear power generation?

First, for example, the successive French governments have spent over $180 billion on nuclear research and development since 1974.  France is the prime European State in nuclear power generation with 58 plants.  All these plants and nuclear policies were done by decrees, and the parliament had implicitly no say in nuclear decisions and disbursement.

Actually, all nuclear plants and health consequences are classified “military secrets”.  France spent $8 billion for a nuclear enrichment process adventure that was cancelled in 1997; just dismantling the abandoned research project plant cost $3 billion!

The nuclear topic is considered a “religious taboo” not to be discussed in public on weapons and military budget…

Second, the cost of disposing and decontamination of obsolete nuclear plants is estimated at about $600 million per plant.  Sweden spent $50 billion for dismantling 11 plants and England spent $120 billion for shutting down less than 20 plants.

Third, it cost about $3 billion to build a single nuclear plant.

Fourth, all real estates around nuclear sites and the byproducts of dismantling sites cannot be sold:  Every thing has to be buried deep in specialized sites for contaminated materials.

These special sites for burying radioactive materials are very costly to construct, deep in earth, and requiring specialized workforce…

The worst case-scenario is imminent because of systemic-degradation-of-work-ethics-in-nuclear-power-plants inspection and maintenance: https://adonis49.wordpress.com/2011/03/30/world-community-bracing-for-worst-case-scenario-what-is-systemic-degradation-of-work-ethics-in-nuclear-power-palnts/

The main culprit in nuclear disasters is failures in the system of regulating, controlling, and setting international norms.  For example, standard levels of contamination are “consensus” norms established in the 40’s, when the US military had the upper-hand in influencing decisions on nuclear projects.

Note 1Corinne Lepage, French Vice-President on the environment commission at the EU Parliament, is about to publish “The Truth on the Nuclear”.  The information were gathered from  the French weekly “Le Nouvel Observateur”

Note 2: Japan renounced on the decision of reactivating the newest and most modern nuclear plant in Hamaoka.

The South Texas Project was abandoned

Germany has decided to shut down all its nuclear generation plants and phase out this kind of energy production by 2020.

Italy has cancelled its contract with France to building four new nuclear plants and decided to shut down all its nuclear plants:  Italy will purchase 80% of its electricity needs from France and Switzerland nuclear plants.

Note 3:  France nuclear electricity provider EDF is under $40 billion deficit and barely generated one billion of revenue in 2009.  The other French nuclear product exploiter AREVA is in terrible shape and has no idea what to do with its surplus of uranium and other nuclear stocks.

Communication technology activists: The challenge to the Syrians secret services

The Irish NGO Frontline, located in Jordan, trained Syrian activists on how to erase data at long distance, secretly exchanging e-mails, and saving sensible database (videos, pictures…).

For example, the Iranians have provided the Syrian security forces GSM antennas that can expand (balloon) the reach of signals and thus, capture the coordinates of anyone using performing satellite mobiles.

Fidaa al-Sayed, communication Syrian specialist and activist, located in Sweden, countered that breach in security by asking his “operators” on the ground to shut down automatic mode and using solely the manual mode.

Since March 15, If you are caught in Syria publishing images and videos on YouTubes or sending videos to Al-Jazeera channel, you are more likely to be beaten silly or killed in prison.

Transmitting, emitting news from Syria is resembling to activities engaged in Radio London during the occupation of Nazi Germany to France.

Usama Monajed, 31 of age and residing in London since 2005, is one of the precursors for clandestinely supplying communication equipments into Syria.  Usuma had assimilated the “non-violence tactics” of Gene Sharp.  Usama held seminars on communication technologies to Syrian activists, able to visit Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon without visas.

The sophisticated equipments included satellite modems, smartphones, and portable computer. Usama manages the network “Shaam News”, a site based in the USA and functioning since February, three weeks before the start of the Syrian uprising on March 15.

On March 15, 2011, two dozens of young activists demonstrated in the Souk of Damascus, by the Great Mosque.  They shouted: “Syrians, where are you?”  They shot a video of their demonstration that made the tour of foreign news media.  All these youth were detained, and not a single one has emerged from prison since then.

The Syrian regime tactics are to close-off a city, cut electricity and internet connections.  In Daraa, the activists recharged their mobiles using electric generators: They filmed the repression, particularly the beating to death of marchers by the security services, the “Mukhabarat”.  The activists vacated Daraa in the night, walked to nearby villages by the borders with Jordan, and remitted their communication equipments to their contacts.  The videos were transmitted on Al Jazeera.

The “authorities” or the 4th brigade of Maher Al Assad, brother of Bashar, ordered a few neighborhoods to either hand-over the activists or face occupation.  The neighborhoods opted for the second alternative. Maher Al Assad is on top of the wanted list for crimes against humanity.

Amrou is a Syrian activists residing in Paris.  He is 29 of age and has been transmitting live videos to Al Jazeera.  Amrou had smuggled to the activists in Banias quality communication equipments and explained to them how to use the software Bambuster. Bambuster can transmit high quality images directly from a phone. On Skype, the operator in Banias relayed the news: “It is done.  He is on the roof. The manifestation is starting.”  Amrou calls his contact in Al Jazeera in Doha and tells him: “All is in place”.  Three seconds later the live video is on TV stations.

The operator on the ground has to cut filming within 30 minutes, lest he is localized by the Syrian communication specialists to the regime.  Amrou prefers the Iridium satellite phone instead of Thuraya, because it is far secure.   Amrou suggests to his operators to use the software YouSendIT to post on YouTubes: It leaves “no trace on your portable computer.”

The Syrian activist Firas Atassi, residing in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), is in charge of the “communicators” in Homs.  Ammar Abdulhamid of Silver Spring (USA) is managing the activists in Damascus. Syrian communication leaders overseas are centered in Germany, Turkey, Lebanon, Kuwait, and Australia; every where there are heavy Syrian immigrants.

Note 1:  Since March 15, over 15,000 Syrians have gone throught the prisons revolving doors, after suffering harsh and savage torture.  More than a thousands have been assassinated, even within the prisons.  Bashar Al Assad has called upon the retired old guards in the secret and intelligence services to join in the efforts of taming the revolts.  Most probably, things are getting out of hand and Bashar has to pay for not demonstrating firm control over his brutish oligarchies.

Note 2: Most of these information were taken from the French weekly “Le Nouvel Observateur”
