East of Eden (Aden) and West of Allah?

Too powerful a condemnation of 1400 years of ignorance by late poet and playwright Muhammad Maghout

Having in mind the Wahhabi Islamic sect of the Arabian Peninsula and the Muslim Brotherhood religious ideology

Apparently, a religion targeting the people of the deserts, people who abhor abstract concepts and dogma, when adopted by other more urban empires, they revert to their original habits and belief systems.

1400 later, the people of the deserts came 360 degrees around and what was developed in their life-style in urban surrounding didn’t change much in their belief systems, and they ended up reverting to their original desert habits and in their mentality.

Turning a new leaf at 16?

Isn’t it too soon?

Was the boy quick also ?

Was Death too impatient?

Do you think it is feasible to turn a new leaf in your life, unless your deficient body forces upon you an alternative world view?

Is it possible to turn a new leaf without much effort and a change in a life style?

Do we turn a new leaf before we come to grip that life is Not forever?

Maggie Mae posted this poem:

“Oh young, on the day she turns over a new leaf,

Sun-damaged veins, shriveled death

Six-feet to go, to sleep, to walk in to her dreams,

Flat-lined sex, drawn out of virgin delirium

Strawberry fields in fast decay, on the day she turns,

Sixteen nights after the drunken man is fast asleep

On the edge, on metal terror pumping through her veins

This is the one, the hidden light, night fury flies past her eyes

Everything is tight, blood crushes blood,

Through lifeless young eyelids she cries, he is too fast,

A shrivelled raisin on black top

Oh young, that night, and what it means, the night takes,

The air rips open, stealing her lungs on the day she turns.

“I write because I must”.  I am a poet of dark imagery.

I write what I feel and how I see the world at given moments.

I love connecting with other writers and seeing life through their eyes, (in words).

Life style in Lebanon will change, and soon

The Lebanese will sooner or later forget to deal with the US dollars.

The foreign domestic helpers will return homes for lack of dollars, as will be the case with foreign workers such as the Egyptians and even the Syrians. The Graduate Lebanese will handle the gas stations instead of them and may return to plow whatever lands they didn’t sell.

It will take a couple of years of hardship before we get down to earth and change our lifestyle and mental fixation.

How to Find Your Passion and Change Your Life

By Dan Rockwell?

Passion

Everyone says, “Follow your passion.” But what if you can’t find it?

Find your passion; don’t wait for it to find you.

Discontent:

Pick at the scab of dissatisfaction. Hidden passion often lurks under the surface of discontent. Explore what you don’t like.

What don’t you like about you?

Forget what you don’t like about the world. Passion to write Leadership Freak, for example, grew out of disappointment within me – about me.

Explore what you don’t like about what you don’t like? (Do we have also to finfdwhat we don’t like?)

Comforters kill passion. They’re enemies. Reject comfort.

Find passion by following pain. Burning discontent guides.  Those close to you feel compelled to help you feel better. They should help you feel worse.

Strength:

Follow your strength if you can’t find your passion.  Give your abilities to others. This option falls way below following pain, but if you don’t feel dissatisfaction, try it.

Passion isn’t found in current activities, if it was, you’d feel it now. Passion is more about what you aren’t doing. Explore new channels for strengths. Follow your strength if it’s buried, neglected, or under-utilized.

Who:

Your contribution to the world rises up when you work on you.

(Better work on others’ asking for support: they are the source of hidden passions)

Frantic living muffles passion. Reflect every morning or evening. Take walks. Sit quietly 10 minutes a day.

You can’t escape the tyranny of the urgent because you haven’t given yourself a chance. Walk even if you can’t get stuff off your mind, for example. Keep doing it.

Passion is first about being, then about doing. Embrace the future you.

Find:

Talk with someone who’s found their passion. Forget success; look for contagious joy coupled with discontent. Miserable people won’t help.

Was passion a flickering flame that eventually erupted? Did it strike like lightening? How much of their passion is about them; how much about the world?

How did you find your passion?

How do you help others find their passion?

Small men crowding States of tyranny

John Stuart Mill wrote in the 18th century:

“A Sate which dwarfs its men in order that they may be more docile instruments in its hands, even for beneficial purposes, will find that with small men no great thing can really be accomplished”

The Liberty principle means free expression, not only in speech and press, but mainly in life-style.

There is no reason to believe in a “one fit” lifestyle: Experiments in living should be the prerogative of adult citizens.

Ignorance may be bliss.

Not being challenged give us the false sense of bliss.

The main criteria for Liberty rights in political system is: Which political system permit an individual to flourish and develop his potentials.

The people should campaign and act against the “dumbed down” screaming headlines that repeat the same misleading arguments that a system own through its various institutions.

An orchestra conductor State system forces its citizens to sing from the same hymn sheet, instead of allowing the various communities and minorities to play as they wish.

Does a neutral State foregoes a common set of social values?

At least tolerance of other belief systems is prime among the common values.

If laws in other countries are horrendous to our set of values system, it is not permitted to shrug off our shoulder and say “It’s all relative”

Practicing tolerance involves our determination to spread the value of tolerance to other communities.

Even though claims are open to interpretations, claims that toleration of a belief system that we feel is wrong should be only interpreted as if “our own way is wrong”.

There is a difference between interpreting a claim and justifying it: Justifying anything is the phase of taking actions against tolerance.

Is there any difference between tolerant attitudes and the concept that morality is relative in society?

The fact is we are inclined to tolerate once we objectively admit that there is a set of moral values that are Not meant to be relative.

Bridging the gap between generation in tolerating life styles is not readily feasible.

Bridging gaps within a generation in life styles is feasible but requires time, patience and plenty of communication.

Learning to practice tolerance is the hardest of training: We are very deficient in communicating our opinions and values tangibly and pragmatically.

Liquidity is meant for the Internal market. Competitiveness is for External market?

Should the level of “Life-Style” be the same among the competitive and the challenged productive states within a Union?

This is not a fair condition to impose on States that managed to sacrifice and work hard for better life conditions.

States in financial crisis must have ready lists of 4 categories of enterprises:

1. The public institutions that are critical in the smooth transmission of liquidity to the various economic sectors

2. The mixed State/Private entities that have locations in many regions of the State and employ many citizens

3. The nationwide private companies

4. The medium and small productive companies that serve their local provinces

It is well know that medium and small productive companies constitute 70% of State production that cater for the internal market needs.

Any shortage in liquidity in these small private companies  and employment hit the roof and the citizens experience shortages in most commodities.

Giving priority to the local economies in the distribution (infusion) of liquidity is the first step in preventing mass unemployment.

There are public economic sectors that cater to the general public needs, such as energy, water and transportation… and the stabilization of these functional sectors in matter of maintenance is another urgent priority.

Before the internal market is reinvigorated and underway, it is of no use planning for the export sections to external markets in order to get the influx of “hard currencies”

Stability and security are the basis for a shift toward State development.

Having the autonomy to print money in period of liquidity shortage is the key for stabilizing the internal market.

The disadvantage resides in the society structure that favor the oligarchy and wealth disparity that eliminate the benefit of printing more money.

The crisis in Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Italy have demonstrated that it is a priority that a State has to reform its public service institutions to discard redundant and politically influenced service appointments.

Without a drastic realization that the political structure should be reformed, and for actually feel the pain associated with uneven equal rights to jobs and opportunities in the institutions, all the remaining reforms will be within the “patching” process.

The crisis in Greece was deep rooted because it lacked the two preconditions: Lousy political structure and not having the right to print money.

Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Italy had political structures that could remedy to the “unfairly” political conditions and to reform the system within the single Euro currency.

The EU has learned the lesson:

1. First, the State that asks to join the union zone must demonstrate that it is serious to undertake political reforms and the structure be designed to react in timely manners to situations of political reforms.

Many States have been included based on historical and ideological “myths” that didn’t match their current unstable realities.

The EU dominant responsibility is to gradually transform the States who applied to join the union into politically viable structure.

The States in waiting must acknowledge that it takes time to achieve stable and valid political structure.

How a poor and unstable State can become competitive in the external market? This is an impossible condition to withhold liquidity infusion that is meant to support local companies.

The “productively challenged States” in the Euro zone should not expect the same level of life-style as the most competitive among them.

And equal rights in life-style is not an equitable and sustainable demand on State basis.

How large of a mankind you Prefer? Your pick: 11 or 4.5 billion? Just decide and act…

Looks like you have two choices for the long-term:

1. If you insist on consuming meat on a daily basis, and don’t mind that the highest authority (UN?) declare that every individual has the natural right to eat meat daily, you have to side with the policies of reducing birth rate to the bare minimum. Earth cannot support more than 4.5 billion who are “carne inclined communities“…

2. If you can be satisfied to live with cereals, vegetables, fruits, and eating meat just once per week, earth can support up to 11 billion of our spieces…

A bit too crowded to your liking? Wants to revert to carne-type?

Meat-eater societies (societies where 45% of its population eat meat-kind of food daily), are increasing world-wide. We had the USA (every citizen eats about 145 kilos of meat per year), most western Europe, Australia, Brazil, Argentina…

And now we have Turkey, Iran, China, most central Asian countries…

A group visited Tehran for a week, and they were served meat (mainly mutton and chicken…) and rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Vegetable food were rare and tasteless. The group could not recall being served any kinds of beans (carbanza bean, green bean, … and even fava bean)

Mind you that the middle class on earth tripled in the last two decades: The growing middle class in China India, Indonesia…want to emulate the life-style of the western nations…Why? They can afford it, and emulating the standard western life-style is the normal reaction…cars, energy consumption, vacation, fashion, waste, and eating meat every day…

All the deforestation of virgin forests around the world will not be enough to feed meat every day for people who can afford it… and the decline in water resources and climate sustainability will go wild…

Do you know that mankind currently consume 50 billion slaughtered animals? (Not sure if fish is included).

Maybe less than one billion can afford to eat meat daily, including fish, and another billion rely solely on fish for daily consumption…and the remaining 5 billion? How do you think they are surviving while the prices of cereals and rice are skyrocketing?

Fish is quickly being depleted and people on the shore lines making fish their daily stipend are having hard time surviving: the fishermen have to navigate far in the seas to catch any fish…

Cows consume more water than agriculture, in localities where they are intensively raised, and they pollute the water sources and the climate more than any other factors……

Herve Le Bras published this French book “Life and Death of world population“. Herve claims that agricultural lands on earth didn’t increase in the last 15 years, including all the deforestation activities…

If every person insist on his right to consume meat daily, earth cannot support more than 4.5 billion.  Either cereals are fed to cows and sheep…or they are meant for mankind consumption.

Earth can feed 11 billion people if land production is intended for people: There is enough land for cows and sheep raised to be slaughtered to graze on.

Currently, earth is inhabited by 7 billion as of October 2012, and will inevitably reach 9 billion by 2050. The evolution of rate of birth has decreased from 2.1 child per family in 1960 to barely 1 child.  And yet, famine and malnutrition are widespread.

During Jesus Christ period, mankind was 35 times less than now, and it was half the number as Armstrong landed on the moon.

People are alarmed and shouting:

“The Titanic is overcrowded. There is no more room for people to jump aboard…”

“If you love your kids, no need to bring to life more of them in this over polluted earth…”

“Earth is a huge vast waste bin…”

“The ecological cost of a new born in Europe is equivalent to 620 flying trips from Paris to New York…”

“When I was a kid, the city was 35 miles away. About 25 years later, the city is within 8 miles reach…”

“Mankind will disappear? Good riddance…” Yves Paccalet, a member of Cousteau team

Partisans of demographic decrease movements are organized in almost every country. They are called “Optimum Population Trust” in England, “Club of 10 million” in the Netherlands, “Rientrodolce” in Italy, “One Baby” in Belgium, “Glinks” in the USA, Green Inclinations, No Kids…

Voluntary Human Extinction Movement (VHEMT), about 3,000 fans, are provoking readers on Facebook…

Childfree movement are voluntarily being sterilized, and women are demanding that health insurance cover temporary obstruction of the vaginal spouts.
