Henry Kissinger: “I don’t care about the partition of Lebanon. I’m worried of its repercussion on Yugoslavia…(in 1976)”

Samir Atallah, veteran Lebanese journalist, reported in the daily Al Nahar (Aug.22, 2012) that former US Foreign Affairs minister Henry Kissinger asked Clovis Maksoud (former UN Arab League delegate) in 1976: “Who is this politician in Lebanon who is hammering on the idea that I am working for the partition of Lebanon?”

Maksoud replied: “He is Raymond Eddeh“. Kissinger said: “Tell Mr. Eddeh that the US has no plan to partition Lebanon at this junction.  It is not that we care about the partition of Lebanon. I’m worried of its repercussion on Yugoslavia, and how this country might get this virus of getting partitioned after Lebanon…”.

By 1989, Yugoslavia was on its way to be partitioned after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Milovan Djilass, former vice President to Tito and author of ( The New Class), had predicted that his country Yugoslavia is pretty ripe for partition if no serious reforms for freedom of opinion and real democratic system are not instituted.

Currently, Yugoslavia is partitioned into 6 new States, recognized by the UN and split according to ethnicity, religious affiliation and languages.

In 1977, Canada PM, Elliott Trudo said: “I won’t let Canada be partitioned as is happening in Lebanon…”

During Lebanon lengthy civil war (13 years), many States were apprehensive of reaching the same fate of Lebanon. The new coined term is the “Balkan partition example

Sudan was freshly divided into two State last year and going nowhere. Many other States are in a de facto partition situation: Iraq into three, Libya into two so far, Yemen back into two or even three, Lebanon has 3 cantons, Syria is quickly following suit to satisfy the US Grand Plan in the Middle-East…

The Us foreign policy in the Middle-East to divide even further is totally outdated and unnecessary: The colonial imposed States were weak and not functioning properly to pose any threat to the US or even Israel.

As if the US refused to learn from the examples of Hezbollah in south Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza: The more the division unites minorities, the more efficient is the resistance.

Outside the Arab and Middle-East States, you have:

1.  The Rep. of Mali in west Africa that experienced a de facto partition (the northern part is under the hegemony of radical Islamic fighters).

2. Nigeria is split, with the radical islamic forces taking over the northern part (Boko Haram faction)

The notion being disseminated is that the US is executing a “strategic plan” of coalescing the Arabic/Islamic States in the Greater Middle-East to form a block against Russia and China growing power. Iran is supposed to be part of that block, and its resistance to that plan is what bringing it all that trouble, along with Syria…

This strategy makes no sense: The central powers in those States that are being split were not sustainable to be of any major threat to anyone outside the Middle-East, not even to Israel. Israel is learning quickly that all its modern military weapons are impotent against a unified and determined resistance movements

Note 1: The people in the Middle-east have realized that the only policy of the US is destroy, destabilize, and ruin any institutions…an outdated colonial policy. The people in the Middle-east appreciate the constant efforts of the European Union of reconstructing and rebuilding what the US has destroyed, and consistently coming to aid to the displaced and refugees… I have no doubt that within a decade, the US will be ousted from this region, including Saudi Arabia…

Note 2: Milovan Djilass wrote “The New Class” describing how the new communist regimes are emulating the previous oligarchies (monarchies, capitalist systems…) and doing it very badly and unwisely…

Joe Sacco, US journalist from Portland and originally from the small island of Malta, investigated the catastrophic phenomenon of boat immigrants landing in various part of Europe.  Sacco focused and interviewed those hapless immigrants who landed on Malta in the summer of 2009.  Joe published his comic strip of 48 pages in Virginia Quarterly Review.  The French weekly “Courrier International” is publishing the strips in series. I am reviewing the three series so far published.

There are estimates that 10,000 African people died so far undertaking these perilous crossings by desert and open seas.  Most of these hapless immigrants were eventually returned to their “Homelands” that they fled from for serious reasons.  What can “advanced nations” do with this flux of poor and “colored” people?

Italian and French fishing boats criss-cross the Mediterranean Sea to capture tuna and deliver them to farms in Malta.  After processing, the tuna is delivered to Japan.  These fishing boats are wondering why tiny open boats carrying immigrants want to land in Malta.  Occasionally, they offer the immigrants food and water.  The immigrants usually ask the route to Sicily:  They are not anxious to land in close by tiny Malta; crowded with 400,000 citizens.  The fishermen reason as follow: If they are from Somalia then, it is the responsibility of the ex-colonial power of Italy. The same reasoning goes to French, Belgium, and England colonies.

Once, fishing boats from Malta witnessed immigrants hanging to their fishing nets but they refused them to board.  The immigrants had to wait for an Italian navy to rescue them.  Malta had opened a center in 2001 with capacity to accommodate 80 clandestine immigrants.  The next year, Malta had to deal with 1,600 immigrants.  In 2008, over 3,500 immigrants landed by open boats.  First, the immigrants are processed for 18 months in special centers and then, they are transfered to open centers close to samll communities where they can mingle with people from Malta communities.

Sacco recounts the adventure of an Eritrean citizen (representative of the thousands of desert and open sea immigrants).  The hero is called John.   In 2001, many Eritrean students refused to serve summer forced labor.  Consequently, 2000 students were sent to prisons in region where temperature reach 44 degrees celsius.  They were left in open air without food for 4 days. After prison term, the students were to serve military service and forced labor.  In 2002, Malta returned 200 Eritreans; back home the immigrants were incarcerated, tortured, and many died from harsh treatments.

John was one Eritrean who managed to cross to the Sudan border and ran the entire night before reaching the UNO refugee camp at Kassala.  Eritrean forces made frequent incursions in that camp; thus, John decided to leave the camp fast heading to Khartoum (Capital of Sudan).  First, John had to leave his ID in the camp so that the UN make sure that he will return.  John had no intention to return.  His family sent him some money knowing that John is better off not to return to Eritrea.

John paid $200 to Sudanese passers.  One hundred immigrants from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan were loaded in just three land cruisers.  The trip in the desert lasted three days.  Each immigrant caughed up another $300 to be taken care by Libyan passers.

The Libyan passers loaded the 100 immigrants in three land cruisers and deposed them in an oasis in the Sahara.  They returned immediately to pick up another group of immigrants in order to cut off on competitive passers.  The next morning, Sudanese “Resistance” militias showed up and collected ransoms.

Twelve days later, as supplies were dwindling, the Libyan passers came back with fresh cargo of another 100 immigrants.  Faced with revolt, the Libyan passers agreed to push forward for another two days of travel in exchange of an additional $50 each immigrant.

They were dropped in the neighborhood of the city of Benghazi (Libya).  A slave merchant bought the cargo of immigrants and received another $20 from each immigrant to facilitate their “transfer”.  The next passers were Ethiopians who got another $200 from each one and packed them in a tomato lorry; they crossed one thousand kilometers in a closed lorry before they reached the Capital Tripoli.  The kids demanded money from the immigrants lest their knives do serious damages.

A Ethiopian slave trafficker lodged them in an apartment.  The police raided the place within two days and relocated the immigrants in the concentration camp of Koufra.  Those who managed to escape police roundups or foresaw the coming calamity were whisked in boats in open seas.  The first boat capsized and passengers were drowned.  The second group took chances and boarded another open boat.  They elected a Captain from Ghana who claimed to have some expertise in the matter.  Instead of 8 hours to reach Malta, the boat needed over two days to land on a beach.  They waited for the Malta police to arrive and start the “processing procedures”.

I have many questions but I might focus on just two:

First, if an immigrant manages to collect a few thousand dollars from family members to undertake a harrowing adventure to greener pastures then, with a little imagination he could land in the US with far more comfortable means of transportation (merchant ships for example) and then get lost in a metropolis.  Police never ventures in dangerous quarters: They don’t pay their salaries.  Maybe the immigrants prefers Europe and avoid American “reserved” quarters.

Second, how immigrants manage to hide their money?  Would it not be easier for bandits to lighten up the immigrants of all their savings and then distribute the razzia among the various passer groups in cohort with them?

Walter Rathenau was a Jewish German baron of industry; he was the head of AEG empire for energy production around the world.  Rathenau had frequent meeting with the Kaiser and was consulted by the German governments.  He opposed the WWI and warned the military High Command that Germany will lack raw materials before the end of the second year of war; the High Command officers laughed out these worries claiming that the war will at best last four months. Then, when Germany declared war, Walter Rathenau unilaterally, and without any government finance or support, stock piled cotton, rubber, and chemical products that aided the German army to withstand another two years of war.

Walter Rathenau was respected by German officials but terribly hated.  He declined any involvement as a high-placed official in the Paris “Peace treaty” negotiations because he knew the danger for a Jew of acceding to public political positions.  Finally, Rathenau grudgingly agreed to be Germany Foreign Affairs minister in 1922.  To the ire of his mother Rathenau replied: “They could find no one else for that job.”

During the world economic conference held in Italy, Rathenau tried his best to keeping the Western European States (France, England, Italy) engaged with Germany politically and economically but failed.  Thus, he turned to the Soviet Union and met secretly with the Russian negotiator Leonid Krasin in Rapallo (Italy).  They signed a secret treaty allowing Germany to re-arm and train within Russia; Germany was to buy oil concession in Baku and trade engineering knowhow.

Thus, for 20 years, Germany dispatched to Russia thousands of “German work commandos”; they conducted joint military maneuvers and both army officers trained together on tank warfare and aviation (blitzkrieg).  Germany manufactured military planes around Moscow and tested chemical gas warfare.

In June 1922, three youths assassinated Rathenau.  Two assassins were killed and the driver, Ernst von Salomon, spent 5 years in prison.  It is claimed that the assassination was ordered by an ultra-nationalist group; most probably, a Western nation got wind of the secret clauses in the deal with Russia and decided that Rathenau had to pay the high price.  The damage was done.

Note 1:  Leonid Krasin was an oil baron in Baku (Capital of Azerbaijan) in the early 20th century; he was already a communist in 1905 and manufactured bombs and financed terrorist marxist groups in Baku. Stalin was 28 years of age and was one of the terrorist leaders and he demanded ransoms for the safety of the rich families in Baku.

Note 2:  Ernst von Salomon became a professional lawyer and published “The Questionnaire” and “The reproved”.  He also screen wrote “Liana, Goddess of the Jungle” in 1956.

Note 3:  Rathenau published “The new society” that was adopted integrally as a plan by the Munich soviet municipality of Bavaria in 1919.

There are currently over half a million Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.  They settled in refugee camps during three major phases:  First, they settled in refugee camps after the “Independence of Israel”, a State recognized my a single and simple majority vote in the UN in 1948, and second, after the 1967 preemptive Israeli war against Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, and third, after the defeat of the Palestinian resistance by the Jordanian monarchy in 1971.

Already, one hundred thousand Palestinian refugees got the Lebanese nationality, not included in the half a million previously mentioned.  Those who got the Lebanese nationality are of three categories:  First, the mostly Palestinian Christians, in order to re-establish sectarian “balance” when the Maronite Christian Presidents of Lebanon had vast authorities before the Taif Agreement in 1989, and second, Palestinians originating from Lebanon such as those who lived in Northern Israel and the Seven Villages and are mostly from the Islam Chiaa sect, and third, the wealthy and business men Palestinians such as the families of Baidass, Sabbagh, Khoury, Nemr, Nahoum, Faress, Nasr, Kattan, Yutajy, Freij, Gharghour, Oweida, Irathy, Saba and many other families.

It appears that the refugees inscribed in the UNRWA, those residing continuously in Lebanon, number around 200,000 or 5% of the total estimated population in Lebanon.  The remaining Palestinians had managed to settle or work abroad with Lebanese travel documents.

Recent statistics show that over 92% of Palestinian refugees want to return to their Homeland, Palestine.  That is a case closed:  the UN resolution #198 of 1948 guarantees the right of Palestinians to return to Palestine and there is no way to cancel or drop that civic and human right accorded to all refugees who were forced to flee under duress and genocidal treatments.

The US, European Union, and Russia are demanding that the Palestinian refugees drop the right to return before extending compensations.  This is an impossible political condition that cannot be satisfied.  The UN should compensate immediately every adult Palestinian and Palestinian families in refugee camps (without any clause pertaining to dropping their rights for return) so that they decide what to do with that money.  Every State around the world, especially the US and European States, will welcome rich Palestinians capable of owning real estates or establishing businesses.  After two years of paying taxes and valid residency papers, the immigrated Palestinians would be having a recognized citizenship.

Since Israelis are entitled to dual citizenship then, it should be so to Palestinians.  For the time being, the UN institution of UNRWA has been caring for the Palestinian refugees in matters of education, health, and survival food since 1948.  The UNRWA budget has been cut frequently while the number of refugees has been increasing dramatically.  Currently, the  UNRWA budget is half a billion dollars; the portion allocated to the refugees in Lebanon is just $70 millions.

There is a heated debate in Lebanon on how to securing the civic and human rights of the refugees.  There are less than 60 types of jobs that Palestinians are entitled to applying for; and they are denied owning properties, though rich Arabs and foreigners can purchase and own properties.

The Lebanese have no jobs, no electricity, no potable water, no health coverage for more than 50% of the population, public education neglected for over 30 years, and things are going to hell.  I am pretty sure if Palestinian refugees would consider bartering their UNRWA facilities for a Lebanese nationality card then, most Lebanese would gladly relinquish their stupid cards that are more of a problem than a privilege.

The UN should establish an international fund to aid and support the Lebanese government improve the infrastructure in the refugee camps and providing health insurance.  Palestinian kids are suffering from diseases due to bad health environment.  The education facilities are deteriorating in the camps.  Camps are becoming hotbeds of insecurity to all the youth not finding an outlet to development and assuring the minimum level of dignity.

The working force in construction, gas stations and sanitation are filled by Syrians, Egyptians, and Bangladeshis.  In-house maids and outside are from Philippines, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Madagascar… May be Lebanese and Palestinians should be allocated quotas to work alongside the foreign workers.

If Lebanon enjoyed an economic and financial boom in its first 30 years of its independence it is mainly because of the flux of Palestinian wealth and knowhow.  Many English-speaking Palestinian refugees worked in the Arab Gulf States and supported their families in Lebanon.  They also made a qualitative development for the American University of Beirut and taught there and constituted the prime English tributary to our economy and finance.

If Lebanon had ever been tad of a State, it would have sustained its financial standing and maintained a modicum of sovereignty.  The Palestinian Resistance Organization (PLO) became a State within a State and even more powerful and more organized since 1972.  The dollar changed for just two Lebanese pounds because of the hard currencies that the PLO poured in our economy; it is currently 1,500 LL

Tom Reiss investigates the identity of an author who wrote in German “Blood and oil in the Orient”, “Ali and Nino”, and “The daughter of the Golden Horn” and signed under Kurban Said.  Kurban Said was known in Germany of the 1920’s as Essad Bey who was the first to describe Stalin in details and accounted for the tormenting period of Baku (Capital of Azerbaijan on the Black Sea and “Zarathustra” land).

It turned out that Essad Bey was Liova Nussimbaum, nicknamed Lev (1905-1942).  Lev is a Jew born in Baku of a rich oil baron from Baku (Abraham) and a mother (Berta Sluzk).  The Sluzk were Jewish serfs working for Prince Sluzki in Ukraine and many converted to Christianity to improve their living conditions.

Berta had left Zürich, headquarters of Russia revolutionaries, and ended up in a Baku.  Lev’s father noticed Berta who was serving a prison sentence at the Baku prison and arranged for her to be set free and married her. Berta resumed her “revolutionary” activities and extended money to the revolutionary groups (that will later be called Bolshevik) between 1905 and 1912. Joseph Stalin, under the code name of Koba, was 28 years old and was leading the Bolshevik groups that asked ransoms in order to provide protection for minority ethnic groups.

Berta committed suicide by poison after she was found out of communicating with the revolutionary gangs and then, she became an embarrassment to her family.  Lev was then 9 years old.  Berta bequeathed her library to Lev and Abraham respected his wife’s will and allowed Lev to occupying the library and reading all day long.

Lev was mostly forced to be secluded in his home and library because of the dangerous conditions outside.  In the rare outings, Lev was surrounded with body guards and a nurse: He was considered of fragile health.

Lev and his father fled Baku in 1917 during the First World War: the armies of Tsar Nicholas II were defeated by Germany and Baku was becoming a hotbed for instability and chaos.  They crossed Turkmenistan and then Iran and had many adventures.  Lev gave accurate description of locations, dates, customs, and fashion of the regions they travelled, but his accounts were mostly fantasies that he dreamt of during his seclusion in Baku.

Father and son returned to Baku as the Turks and Germans occupied it briefly before the English returned.  Azerbaijan experienced independence for less than a year before the Bolshevik returned in 1920 and Azerbaijan became part of the Soviet Union. Father and son managed to flee Baku, separately, in order to avoid close surveillance. Lev reached the second city of Gandja (ancient capital) walking.  The citizens in Gandja chased out the few Russian soldiers for a few days before the Bolshevik army encircled the city and entered it with the accompanying massacres.

Lev managed to get out of Gandja and stumbled on a German colony-village (Helenendorf) by the borders with Georgia.  This colony was established in 1813 after the Napoleonic wars and Tsar Alexander I encouraged many Germans to populate the Caucasus region.  As Germany invaded Russia in 1940, Stalin made sure to transfer all the Germans in 1941 to Siberia; very few Germans returned to Germany in 1991.

Lev spent some time in Tibilissi (Capital of Georgia) and then, boarded an Italian boat with his father in 1921 to Constantinople.  The French, English, Italian, and Japanese troops had headquarters in different quarters of Constantinople.

Apparently, Nazi Germany studied extensively the procedures and tactics of the Bolshevik Tcheka (secret services) and added its refinements.  Lev and his father settled in Berlin of the 1920’s and wrote his books that were translated and appreciated in the USA.  Lev converted to Islam in 1923 at the Turkish Embassy.  He died in Northern Italy at the age of 35 but looked seventy.  Lev was the first to publish Stalin biography since the Pockennarbige (smallpox face)or Iossif Djougachvili knew Lev’s mother and he stayed in their home in 1920.

I might publish another post on Lev Nussimbaum as I finish reading the book.  You may read my account on Baku https://adonis49.wordpress.com/2010/06/15/bakou-1905/

There is this guy working at the Bronx zoo, Pat Thompson, who had this idea of experimenting in 2003 with 24 human-made fragrances on the large feline carnivores.  Many ladies contributed these $60 a bottle cologne and perfumes so that Pat could resume his research.  Most scents didn’t occupy the felines more than two seconds. Two scents “obsession for men” of Calvin Klein and  “Air du temps” of Nina Ricci occupied the leopards for over 10 minutes, longer that these carnivores invest on eating their meals.

There are a few applications for these discoveries.  Wildlife Conservation Societies in tropical forests wanted to taking clear pictures of these invisible felines in order to tag every jaguar, tiger, lion. or leopard and, eventually, study their behavior.  The cameras located in various areas in the vast forests generated lousy and non exploitable pictures 40% of the time, given that these carnivores barely showed up at camera locations. The trick is spaying “Obssession” on fragment of cloths around a sprayed tree trunk and wait for the felines to smell the fragrance a mile away; then, as the feline is curiously occupied with the scent for 10 minutes, the cameras are taking excellent pictures.

So far all is well.  What bother me and worry me is that the feline got into a frolicking mood!  What if with persistent scenting may affect these felines and they start behaving like mankind?  Like copulating all year round, every time the recollection of “Obssession” incite them into mating?  Sort of scent guiding feline into substituting eyesight for female presence? Not that mankind cares about intercourse anymore since they have no energies for these redundant activities.  But, felines energy is too abundant because they are still living the wildlife style.

These combinations of vanilla and artificially produced musk could be potent medicines overtaking Viagra and their kinds.  Just emulate feline behavior and you are set for everlasting happiness and abundant sources of energies that will make you forget scanning cable channels.

In an indirectly related topic, there is this Vietnamese lady who can confirm if a man is still virgin:  She saved many convicts for rape by examining behind their ears for tiny red dots that disappear after the first intercourse!  It seems that masturbation and same-sex intercourse do not count, and won’t make these red dots vanish.  Thus, rape victims can ask for Pham Thi Hong assistance if they are not sure in identifying the attackers. At least, the virgin men can be left free in cases of suspicions not based on solidly evidence.  Mind you, you may try to rape, but if you ejaculate prematurely in your pants or somewhere else then, raping attempt might stick but it won’t erase the spots, the red ones behind your ears.  My hypothesis is that there is a particular secretion in the vagina (not the clitoris) that has this powerful medicinal effect on red spots, behind ears or another locations on the body.  I am just aiding Pham to setting up her scientific experiment once for all.

When “Arabic” tribes are mentioned, people are trained to thinking of the Arabic Peninsula or current Saudi Arabia Wahhabi Kingdom.  That is not correct.  Arabic tribes are as ancient as antiquity; it appears that the first time the word “Arab” was discovered in manuscripts was in 853 BC as Jundub, the leader of a coalition of Arab tribes, associated with Syria and a few Israelite tribes in northern Palestine to counter an Assyrian incursion in the Levant.  Many “Arabic” stories and myths were altered and recounted by bordering Empires to fitting the environment and culture.

Arabic tribes extended to the desert region between the Euphrates and Tiger Rivers, to the vast stretch of land bordering the Red Sea, to Southern Palestine and Jordan, to the Sinai Peninsula, and to the lands bordering the Persian Gulf.  The Arabic tribes languages and cultures were influenced by the urban civilization in Yemen, the various Persian Empires and India, and the various Western Empires of Greek, Roman, and Byzantium Empires before the advent of Islam.

The dominant Empires at every period paid tributes to coalition of Arabic tribes in return of keeping the peace on demarcation borders, facilitating trade caravans, and for gathering intelligence on the enemy as advance signs of changing policies, and for joining in battles.

Thus, we you read about pre-Islam cultures of Arabic tribes you should keep in mind thousand of years of traditions and customs.  Pre-Islam Arabic cultures are lumped by the new emerging Islam as “Period of Ignorance (Jahilyya)” meaning ignorance of the One and Unique God Allah.

Fact is, many Arabic tribes were already Christians and many could be labelled by the Orthodox Byzantium Church as “heretic” Christians: they had dogmas different from the Byzantine Orthodox dogma.  For example, the tribes of Salih, Kalb, Udhra, Tannukh, Bahra, Tayy, Ghassan, and Jusham.  The father of the Prophet was a Christian convert and one of his uncles was the Patriarch of the Christian sect in Mecca.  The ease with which Islam settled in Syria and Iraq was because the supporting tribes in Syria and Iraq formed the majority of Islam army that defeated Byzantium and Persia Empires within 15 years of the death of the Prophet.

Fact is, many Arabic tribes were Jewish, especially in the region of Yathreb or Medina where the Prophet established his first Islamic administration.  The wars between Muhammad and the Jewish tribes were mostly due to sphere of influence because the Jews got worried of Islam domination in the region.

Fact is many tribes believed in Mazda (the dominant religion in Persia) and appeased Satan since God was forgiving and compassionate but satan needed plenty of attention and cajoling.

Fact is, most of the idols that Arabic tribes venerated were imported from Syria, Persia, and India.  Islam became the common denominator religion among Arabic tribes during the Prophet Muhammad life.

I might describe a few of the pre-Islam poets and cultures in successive  articles.  What follows are a few pre-Islam saying extracted from “The enigma of Qaf” by Alberto Mussa:

“When I tell a lie then, am I not restoring an ancient truth?”  (The Arabic Scheherazade)

“Two write:  The one with daulty memory and the other who cannot clearly express verbally”

“I love women who, when naked, are never totally nude” (Poet Imru2 al Qayss)

“Honor is never but another form of fear” (Poet Shanfara)

“Is there any greater glory than being ignored by hyenas?” (Poet Amru ben Kulthum)

“Three are stupid:  the one who does not know that he doesn’t; the one who knows that he doesn’t; and the one who doesn’t know that he knows.”  (Poet Labid or Lubad)

“Having respect for your enemies is celebrating a cult to the dead.” (Poet Antara)

“O beauty! O Women! O desert!” (Anonymous)

“Three possess faith: The Persian in his horoscope, the Jew in his laws, and the Arab in his camel.”

Two are innocents:  A beautiful girl and an armed man.”

“What you don’t own, steal it” (Ali Baba)

“Why ask of God what I can buy on the market?” (Mundhir)

“The greatest merit of an atheist is that he does not believe in demons.”

“Four are pleasures: laughing, eating, loving, and knowing.”

“I love the concept of woman, and only that concept. This one woman, the other one: Who can tell me the difference?” (Poet Imru el Qayss)

“True wise men can never be happy.”

“Even talking about a single evident fact requires that you have read a thousand book.” (Malika)

“Ask the dead if they really want peace!” (Poet Tarafa)

“Realising your desires is the work of an imbecile.” (Aladin)

“I have never forgiven: I have not the pretension of possessing a virtue attributed to God.”

“Nothing is that grand to merit being taken seriously.” (Poet Al Aasha the dim sighted)

“We don’t kill a pork without soiling the knife.”

“I love the tribe of bats:  Any female is beautiful.”

“The best in life are those that we have no use of them.” (Poet Zuheir)

“I am immortal: I will never know when I died.” (Harith bi Hilliza)

“Euro B”: For internal trades?

Most population or demographics of the Northern European States such as Germany, Holland, Danmark, Sweden, and Norway are on average much older than the Southern States such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, and Greece.  For example, the average age in Germany is 45 and thus, Germany spends less for new housing and can save much more than the younger States. States experiencing high deficits in budget and in GNP need plenty of credit to get its young citizens settled down.

The smaller or emerging States in the EU are suffering from another major handicap.  In the previous decade, these States received plenty of financial funding from the richer States in the EU and thus, most of the young people quit colleges and universities in order to work in a booming economy and to make money and purchase consumerism products that their families never owned or experienced.

Statistics show that 80% of the newer entrepreneurs in Spain and Portugal have not earned a college degree; they have restricted and limited skills to compete in this global economic environment.  An entire generation was lost to shoulder the next challenges.

The problems of the Euro currency and the economy of European Union (EU) States had begun before the latest financial crash, but this financial upheaval uncovered problems that were swept under carpets for as long as the illusion of global economic development was not that evident.

The European common market is a vast market of 450 million consumers, as large as the combined USA and Russia markets.  If the EU policies focus on internal trades among its States then, most of the difficulties would be far more bearable in this climate of stringent conditions to slowing down deficits in budget and to GNP.

The EU needs to consider issuing a currency valid for its internal trades that is heavily devalued compared to the current Euro.  This inner currency may be called “Euro B” which will have the consequences of lowering the cost of living compared to reductions in salaries and public reduction in sectors of health, education, family planning, and small business lending facilities.  The other consequence is that tourism will increase and tourists will be able to purchase more consumerism goods as product prices effectively fall.

Another additional remedy that may keep internal trades developing smoothly is to allowing hard hit States to asking for more liquidity of “Euro B” as internal trades increase and develop.  Obviously, Germany should keep the exclusive monopoly of issuing Euro, both Euro A and Euro B(a monopoly that generates over 5 billion Euros to Germany per year), but the mechanism for evaluating the needs for more liquidity should be more lenient and timely.

For example, the colonies in the US before independence experienced economic expansions while England was having hard times.  Benjamin Franklin, Ambassador to France after the US independence, let out the secret: Economic expansion was related to the colonies enjoying the right to “printing” currency when the economy needed this “oiling” mechanism.

England then convinced the US government, after US independence, to have the monopoly of issuing money instead of the US treasury.  The Rothschild family in England endeavored to ruin the US economic expansion by refraining from issuing badly needed currencies. The dollar received a higher value than being simply an oiling mechanism: thus, the dollar was overvalued and the economy shrank.

The “Euro A”, designed for external trades outside the EU, can still be devalued, but since export balances favor only export economies such as in Germany then, “Euro A” may be considered as a political currency that should not affect significantly internal trades in the European common market.

The Euro of the European Union (EU) currency or what I call “Euro A” is witnessing healthy devaluation lately compared to the dollar and needs to be lower to around 1.1 to the dollar.  The increasing difficulties experienced by many States in the EU result from initial weaker economies that could not compete efficiently in the European common market and then, were buffeted by the US financial crisis as financial multinationals extended credits not based on tangible sound economic improvement.

As long as “Euro A” is overvalued and individual States have no sovereignty for issuing currency then, the smaller States will have no options but exercising internal devaluation of 20% represented in lower salaries and harsher budget cuts.

The European and international financial and political medias are breaking the taboo of discussing whether maintaining the Euro is a viable alternative in the short-term. The arguments of the group that staunchly defends the Euro is mostly based on political reasons: To them it is becoming a matter of safeguarding dignity and sovereignty.  It believes that the Euro is the major factor in the reconstruction of the European market and for the political stability and the cohesion of the European market.  This group would like you to believe that without the Euro there would be no EU.

The “taboo breaker” group believes that the EU is in dire difficulty because it prematurely created a common currency before ironing out and strengthening common politics.  Germany and its satellites States in the northern hemisphere benefited most from the Euro since their currencies were highly overvalued “stronger” than the Euro and thus, they managed to compete better and export more to the European common market.  The other States in the Union could not deal with a Euro that was much overvalued compared to their national currencies and thus, had to suffer in market competition.

The financial and economic commotions in Greece, Ireland, Portugal, and Spain are symptoms of the financial and economic imbalance with respect to the vaster and stronger economies in Germany, France, and Italy.  This group believes that the EU is heading toward a deflationary period within a couple of years if no structural institutions are installed.

The main source of imbalance is that the original six States in the Union had firmer and better tested administrative and political institutions that could apply regulations agreed on; they had the capability to supervise and monitor laws and regulations governing the union members.  The weaker States are at great disadvantage: The main powerful States in the union have no confidence in the resilient determination of the weaker States to effectively executing the agreed upon regulations and second,  the weaker States are prohibited to issuing (printing money) to satisfy liquidity in their internal trade and commerce.

It is not the Euro that created the common European market: the EU was already instituted and functioning well before the common currency was created on political grounds.  The Euro was mainly to be the material “symbol” of the Union and this symbol degenerated into a calamity at the first major problem.  The EU could have imagined much less costly symbols for its unification until political coherence was firmly established, tested, and thoroughly evaluated.

The Maastricht treaty set limits to budget deficit below 3% and public deficit below 60%.  Currently, only Spain has kept its public debt at 54% and Germany its budget debt at 3.3%.  The remaining States in the Euro have doubled and even tripled both limits. Joblessness is very bad all over the Euro zone averaging 10%; Spain has 20% and Ireland and Greece about 14%.

It seems to me that the Euro has encourage many mafia type “economies” to expand simply because it became much easier to transfer a unique currency and circumventing further money exchange regulations and constraints.  The “Euro A” will be a good barrier for whitewashing mafia money outside the EU.

The financial institutions and the medias are sending waves of terrors claiming that there is lack of confidence in the Euro; they claim that this confidence is so low that investors are shirking the Euro zone States.  I believe that the Euro should stay but be restricted to the main large economies such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Danmark, and Norway where the same homogeneous spirit for taking seriously the application of financial and economic regulations among the member States.

The other weaker States should have an alternative common currency or “Euro B”, far devalued from the Euro and backed by the “Euro A”, until political coherence and institutions are equalized in efficiency and modernity.  The weaker states should enjoy the privilege of preempting slow internal trade by issuing liquidity in the newer common currency within limits.

So many authors went to great length describing the life of insects (ants, bees, beavers…) and how they built perfect residences and how they sacrificed (from mankind notion) for the sake of continuation of their breed.  Invariably, these authors end up glorifying mankind and his “unique fluid of energy: Capacity for thinking!”

What is sacrificing once life for the survival of the community?  You think that there are pre-conditions to classifying a murder by “sacrifice”; first, the person must be fully conscious of his decision and with sane brain and reflecting power; and second, the person must have reached the decision voluntarily without undue pressures from his community, family, or his buddies.

Now, how could these authors and researchers communicate with insects to figure out that sacrifice was the purpose instead of brute massacres for some kind of survival?  How could these researchers figure out that there are no trained architects among the insects?  Just stating “instinct” of survival or gene structure does not cut it:  “Black boxes” in sciences are proof of total ignorance on the subject matters.

Governments would like you to believe that the millions of soldiers who died in senseless battles were sacrificing their blood and life for the other “citizens”.  Soldiers who were horded by force under law gimmicks were not martyrs.  Soldiers who volunteered under community pressures in order to saving the “honor and dignity” of the community are indeed “sacrificial” lambs.  Do you know of any voluntary soldier who was convinced that he will die?  Most probably, it is his co-arm companions who will die:  Statistics stupid!  When the turn of the volunteered soldier’s shit is to hit the ceiling in a battle then, it is too late to backtrack; he is pressed by his co-arm companions and captains to advance .  Otherwise, this volunteered conscript is to face a firing squad with all kinds of unjustified character deficiencies heaped upon him.

The high command is not that interested in the number of death: it is concerned with the number of injured soldiers.  High command needs to investigate how many soldiers committed self-inflicted injuries to avoiding front lines engagements.  Statistics of rate of injuries recommend serious investigations when higher than “normal”.

Thinking should be a constant exercise; most important before deciding on preemptive wars.  Unfortunately, thinking is not on the table; just maps, PowerPoint graphs, and the rate of return of multinationals for the razzias.

I was never been paid to communicate with insects; they are so tiny and thus, when they invade my comfort zone then I kill them.  All that I ask of insects is not to show up where they shouldn’t.  (That is exactly what superpowers do to redundant States.)  I blame those soft-hearted and cowered people who demand to save the blood sucking mosquitoes on the ground that they must have been created for the benefit of mankind; a benefit not yet discovered.  Consequently, we have to sacrifice our blood and comfort for the survival of mosquitos.

I am a mental for killing mosquitoes; I wet a short towel and then, fine tune and adjust my snapping maneuvers to guaranteeing a kill.  Yes, I get up from my couch just to go after tranquil mosquitoes.  I would love to be remembered in Guinness Books as the meanest mosquitos hand terminator.
