‘Woman in red’ sprayed with teargas: Becomes symbol of Turkey protests
Istanbul’s police chief had said his forces would only use teargas as a last resort. But the images seem to show the officer targeting an unarmed woman.
The images have been widely shared on social media and have spawned cartoons and graffiti across the country and beyond.
Lewis Williamson posted in guardian.co.uk this June 5, 2013:

A new tactic by the Turkish Government and Police is in use. They’ve pulled out of Taksim in Istanbul, and they’re leaving the protesters alone in a few other big cities, because that’s where the international media have their cameras. They want us…/you to think the brutality came to an end.

Please copy and paste so that everyone around you knows about this, too. Thanks.

Note 2: Funny Turkish foreign minister calling the US counterpart and saying : “Be assured. Turkey brand of democracy is NOT a second class type…”
