What is your race; I mean “ethnic origin”?
Maybe you agree with me that this notion of race is stupid; that it had done more damage to mankind development than any other negative factors such as religious dogma or totalitarian ideologies.
Fact is, even by the turn of the 20th century, mankind was the product of incest in almost every region in the planet. Thus, scientifically, it is deleterious to boast that you are of a pure race or ethnic origin: all kinds of genetic afflictions are generated from close relative intermarriages...
Fact is, this romantic concept of race is still alive and kicking in “advanced nations“, though applied implicitly in every facet of everyday life.
Even in 1920, fascist Mussolini qualified “scientific racism” and anti-semitic ideologies as “Prussian science” and typical of “Germany sickness”.
Nazi Hitler retorted: “Mussolini fascism is kosher”. Do you recall Ellis Island and the slogan about welcoming the downtrodden and tired immigrants?
All foreign passengers disembarking in New York around 1921 had to fill an exhaustive form; a copy was to be kept in Manhattan at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
In 1921, an immigration law reserved quotas to foreigners asking for residency.
Priority in quotas were allotted to Nordic Europeans such as citizens from England, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. Thus, “tanned” people of south Europe (such as France, Italy, and Spain) and citizens from Turkey, Greece, Syria, Egypt, and from Asia were allocated reduced quotas.
For excuses, it was impressed that the USA was haunted by revolutionary upheavals sweeping Europe, Russia, and the Orient.
Fact is, it was a period where race ideologies of superiority was reaching the zenith: It is assumed that superior race could be assimilated easier and would improve this wretched multiracial America.
US Officers on board had explicit instructions on how to aid the “illiterate”, meaning those who could not communicate in English, filling the forms.
With frequent contacts of foreigners and acquired experience in estimating “racial differences“, officers on board had wide latitudes to help filling the complicated form of port of entry. For example, there were questions like in column 9 on “Nationality”, question 10 on Race, the question 11 on place of birth, mother tongue, and so on.
Now, most immigrant were practically illiterate and had no idea how to contribute information.
Officers on board had to deal with answers such as “What do you mean by race?” Is nationality not enough? Is mother tongue not enough? How can I select from these 42 kinds of ethnic origins?
Race was the prime factor for classification in the forms, followed by the mother tongue as a supplementary clue.
Actually, Hitler demanded from his researchers of the Nuremberg racial laws to emulate the US eugenic measures and classifications schemes that were already applied in the US since 1921.
How can this hapless immigrant know his race? Can a person from North Africa say he is Arab?
Can a Syrian from the Ottoman empire say he is Turk?
Can a person from Azerbaijan or the Caucasus say he is Mogul?
It turned out that your religion was considered a “solid basis” for estimating your race. For example, Jews were classified as Hebrew.
In Arabic, Hebrew is said “Obrani” which means the one who crossed (Moses’s variety of tribes crossed the Sinai desert to the fertile land of Canaan or Palestine). Are all Jews originally from the “crossing tribes”?
What about the Jews in the Caucasus, in Russia, in Eastern Europe, in North Africa, in cosmopolitan Constantinople (Istanbul) and the other Ottoman cities?
Come to think of it, why the US selected Hebrew to designate jews? Had the Zionist movement decided before 1921 to enforce the archaic hebrew language on all jews immigrating to Palestine? Most jews didn’t speak this poor archaic language and spoke rich slang of Arabic, Russian, and German. For example, Maimonides, the most respected jew from the Andalusia period in the 12th century ,interpreted the Talmud in Arabic. Thus, why adopt an outmoded language when you had a very rich language to applying?
During Nazi ascendancy in 1933, many immigrants living in the “Teutonic vital space” felt so despaired that they wrote “How may I prove my Aryan origin that requires gathering documents on three generations in my genealogy? Could you please refer me to a “competent anthropologist” so that he may clinically examine me and thus, scientifically demonstrate that I am Aryan?”
Yes, they needed to be confirmed scientifically as Aryan, as the US wanted to in order to be American resident.

Urban Islam and Rural Islam
Western Europe (England, France, and Germany) of the 19th century was hooked to Orientalism: The aristocracies wore turbans and Ottoman attires. They were carried away with the romantic notion of an Orient (Middle East and Central Asia) as being the remaining original primitive races and conserving the roots of “spirituality” (sufism).
The Jew Benjamin Disraeli, Queen Victoria’s Prime Minister, was baptized at the age 12, but never relinquished his Jewishness. Disraeli was a staunch Orientalist and categorized the Arabs as “Arab-Moses” and “Arab-Muhammad” on the basis that they are the original races; thus, his classification was based on race.
Implicitly, Disraeli must have considered Arabs as a collection of tribes roaming arid desert lands and conserving their customs and traditions, not altered for centuries, in order to survive the influences of surrounding vast empires such as Persia, Byzantium, Romans, Greeks and so forth.
In the Near East, Antoun Saadeh, founder of the Syria National Socialist Party (SNSP) in 1933, divided Islam in his book as “Islam in its two messages: Islam-Christ and Islam-Muhammad.” Implicitly, Saadeh classified Islam into two major sects: Urban Islam (living near urban conglomeration and in fertile agricultural regions) and rural Islam (living in arid desert regions and rugged mountain areas.)
Consequently, Urban Islam or Islam-Christ is a set of sects that exhibit flexibility in changing customs, traditions, and have propensity to compromise and accepting even abstract dogma (constructs) to survive Imperial edicts (Byzantium, Persian and Caliphs…)
People in urban environmental setting are more concerned with commerce, trade, and freedom of opinion. In a sense, urban religious sects have tendency for assimilation into a culture that has demonstrated material supremacy over its surrounding neighboring people.
Rural Islam or Islam-Muhammad is a set of sects that refuse to consider abstract constructs and rely on sets of antique laws that regulate their daily life. They are either petrified on mountain strongholds or arid desert regions that do not encourage easy communication and travel. They lack financial means to trade for luxury items that might disturb the social fabric of equality in standard of living and the unity of the tribe.
There is a third class of religious sects than can resolve many difficulties in working out a taxonomy for religious sects. They are the tribes living close to urban surrounding and fertile zones; they adopt nomadic characteristics, but have acquired flexible line of thinking.
They are the “conveyor belt” or the transmitters of cultural differences between the two major categories of sects. They are the prime “intelligence gatherer or front-line intelligence agencies” for the powerful neighboring empires; they are the guides in time of wars; they guard the security of caravans crossing regions and extend facilities in water and supplies.
These third class of tribes have the mental agility to manipulating abstract dogma, though they preferred the freedom of keeping away from the lures of urban “decadence“.
It is no enigma why fundamentalist sects of all religions, and particularly the three monotheist religions (that I call “mono-idolatry religions”) move away from urban environment to far away regions, where they can exercise and apply their restrictive laws and not succumb to urban disastrous influences.
That what the Mormons did, the Calvinists, the Huguenot, and the Wahhabi did, and so on.
In the 20th century Europe, there were several kinds of Judaism. You had the notable, professional urban Jews who were ready to be assimilated within the dominant culture of powerful nations; and you had the Jews of the “shtetl” in poor rural Eastern Europe and within non-advanced cultural regions; and you had the Jews of ghettos or tribes close to urban centers.
Obviously, there were Jewish tribes in harsh mountain regions in the Caucasus and other tribes in Northern Africa and the Middle East. You had cosmopolitan Jews in Constantinople (Istanbul) and the Ottoman cities.
The Jews of the shtetl tended to accept the German ideology of the “volkish” or pure tribal blood with creative minds. The volkish was a romantic notion that required to be settled on a piece of land for many centuries that conserved the folk spirit of the rural life style.
Thus, the various Zionist factions finally agreed on two fundamental notions:
First, the spirit of Judaism is rooted in the Orient and the Jews have to become the mediators between the Western and eastern civilizations.
The second principle was to finding a land and occupy it in order to satisfying the German per-requisite of the volkish ideology.
As Zionism settled in Palestine, it applied the two worst social and political structures of both civilizations.
First, it applied the apartheid and racist Western European ideology of “Teutonic vital space” (camouflaged under Biblical myths) by the sword and blood of utmost cruelty.
Second, Israel society was transformed into a caste system among its Jewish sects, for example Ashkenazim “European” sects and Sephardi Arab-Jew sects (and more blatantly with Palestinian minorities) in all its administrative and governmental services. So much for Zionism mediation among civilizations.
Note 1: Antoun Saade proved that Islam-Muhammad was almost identical to Islam-Christ in the first 13 years of its proselytizing in Mecca. It is after Muhammad settled in Medina (Yathreb) that Islam-Muhammad changed and had to institute laws governing the City -State of Medina.
To Saade, Jesus had no need for religious laws governing people, since Roman civil laws were the laws of the Land and because Jesus was against the 650 laws of the Pharisee sect, shackling people in restrictive daily life behavior and obliterating free reflection and liberty in thinking.
Note 2: The “conveyor belt” tribes close to major urban setting (Damascus, Aleppo…) were mostly of the kind of “heretic” Christian sects that refused central religious power. They had suffered from the frequent changes in religious belief of Byzantium Emperors…
Note 3: This anecdote is reflective of the sameness in belief system at the beginning of Islam. Prophet Muhammad told his most beloved wife Aicha: “I know when you are happy and when you are angry with me. When you are happy you say: “God of Muhammad” and when angry you say: “God of Jacob”…
Why Hitler invaded Russia: Cycle closing in again?
In the previous two articles I mentioned that:
First, the German General Ludendorff in WWI had a vast vision of Teutonic vital space (Lebensraum) in eastern Europe. Ludendorff and marshal Hindenburg had pressured Lenin (leader of the new Bolshevik revolution) to sign a peace treaty in 1918. Germany of the Kaiser Reich II doubled in size and in population.
Lenin could temporarily afford to release Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Poland, Roumania, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan to Germany in order to consolidate his communism reign on Russia.
This extension in size, natural resources, and population didn’t last 6 months before Germany capitulated, but it generated grave consequences.
Germany had dispatched over one million soldiers to this eastern front in order to transfer natural resources and foodstuff back to famished Germany. Among the soldiers were the voluntary military corps (people of German origin in the newly acquired lands) known as Freikorps or “franc corps”.
Second, during the six months before the collapse of the German army in the Western fronts, the Freikorps advanced to regain the lands that Medieval Germany had conquered in the 13th century. The Freikorps soldiers felt at home. After the war, they also linked up with the “White Russian army” (supporting Russia monarchy) to jointly fighting the “Red Russian army” of the Bolsheviks.
Third, in the next two years 1919-1921, there were more revolutionary insurrections and upheavals in Germany than all of Europe during the last two centuries. The fact is that the terrible “Spanish” flu that decimated over 20 million after the war, and the disintegration of three empires (Ottoman, Russian, and Austria), the flux of refugees from Russia and many other countries to Western Europe, and the lengthy Paris “Peace Treaty” negotiations have obscured the chaos that Germany’s political and social structures were experiencing.
Thus, the Freikorps, returning to Germany after the retreat and disbanding of the “White Russian army”, formed the backbone of Germany governments counter attacks on insurgent groups, reformist, communists, socialists movements and parties. The Freikorps squashed with utmost savagery the marxists, communists, and leftist revolts in many cities such as Berlin, Munich, and in the Ruhr region (the main region for heavy industries and mining.). These reprisals were precursors of what Nazi Germany would apply with the Waffen SS.
Fourth, during the world economic conference held in Italy, Walter Rathenau (Germany foreign affairs minister) tried his best to keeping the Western European States (France, England, Italy) engaged with Germany politically and economically, but he failed. Thus, Walter Rathenau turned to the Soviet Union and met secretly with the Russian negotiator Leonid Krasin in Rapallo (Italy).
They signed a secret treaty allowing Germany to re-arm and train within Russia; Germany was to buy oil concession in Baku and trade engineering know-how. Thus, for 20 years, Germany dispatched to Russia thousands of “German work commandos”: they conducted joint military maneuvers and both army officers trained together on tank warfare and aviation (blitzkrieg). Germany manufactured military planes around Moscow and tested chemical gas warfare.
The English author D.H Lawrence visited Germany around 1924 and wrote a letter to the editor stating: “We could say that life in Germany shifted eastward (toward Russia). Germany is no longer trying any reconciliation with Western Europe (France, England, Italy). It is over. The barrier has closed down. It is as if German life has lost contact with Western Europe. Germany gives the impression of vacuum and menace. Germany is very different from my previous visit two and a half years ago…”
D.H Lawrence resume:
“The German spirit is turned again toward Russia and the Tatars. Germany is rediscovering its oriental Hun destructive fascination for Attila. There are these bizarre and strange bands of youth professing anti-materialist faith and extending quasi mystical assertions. There is something primitive with these youth, as if tribes have exploded into marauding clans. The ancient charm of the old world is broken. The shaggy antique savage spirit is instilled. A dangerous phenomenon is taking place and will influence greatly future events.” (How prophetic; Hitler was barely known at that time)
Why Hitler invaded Russia in 1942 when he had a serious alliance with Stalin and England was on its knees?
Stalin greatly admired Hitler, and WWII started as Stalin and Hitler invaded Poland in the same time, according to the secret treaty. But France and England declared war on Germany and not on Russia.
Stalin had executed 80% of his military officers (about 30,000) and Russia army was no match to Germany. Did Stalin increase the prices of raw materials and oil because he was losing power and facing grave conditions? What is certain, Stalin demands in lands and dominion were increasing, and Germany wanted to be the dominant power in Continental Europe.
Could Hitler not suffer any longer the existence of two great dictators in his “German vital space“? (Mussolini didn’t count)
Could Hitler no longer suffer the existence of a totally materialistic ideology that would not agree with a particular German Teutonic God as neighbor?
Did Hitler, who didn’t really want to invade England, felt secured that England had learned the lesson after the sustained air attacks and would quickly demand cease-fire? Actually, England was on its knees when Hitler stopped the air raids on England. Did Churchill promised Hitler not to intervene if he invaded Russia? (why Churchill would intervene at this junction, and how?)
Most probably, the allied forces used deep psychology to encouraging Hitler to execute his plans for invading Russia prematurely. It was well-known that Hitler had dreams of the Teutonic vital space eastward that Germany had acquired in 1918 by a treaty with Lenin. The military plans were already drawn and waiting for the order. What plans, drawn by the military, are for if not for being executed?
Most probably, England whispered to Hitler’s general staff that in return for Egypt (that England will not relinquish), Germany could retain the French northern Africa colonies (to humiliate France even further). Is that why the Afrikakorps of Rommel was not supplied and was forgotten by Hitler as it was ready to capture Egypt?
The German and Russian armies fought in lands they jointly maneuvered in for 20 years.
Currently, this Teutonic vital space is at work from an economical perspective after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Germany export is mostly oriented toward the new States that recaptured their independence from the Soviet Union in 1990. Germany would have rather have its own European Union formed of Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Ukraine.
The western European States and Greece are just added burden that Germany feels it was pressured to supporting. Probably, the European Union might adopt a second currency (alongside the Euro) just for internal trade purposes among the economically weaker European States.
