Which of the mere 3 demands do you oppose to this Movement?
“From those who claim to be progressives who support Israel, we’d like to know: which of the three objectives of the #BDS Movement do you so vehemently oppose?
Is it the demand to:
End Israel’s illegal occupation and colonization of the West Bank, Gaza, and the Syrian Golan Heights, and to dismantle the apartheid wall?
Do you oppose recognizing the fundamental rights and full equality of the Palestinian citizens of Israel? Or is it the right of return for Palestinian refugees who were forced from their homes as stipulated in UN resolution 194 that you can’t abide?
Like it or not, these are the only demands of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement. Claiming that the movement represents anything other than demands for equality, freedom, and justice for Palestinians is simply false.
The Zionists openly say that they will allow Palestinians to choose whether they remain in “Israel” as residents without rights, leave, or fight and be killed by the Israeli forces — these same forces that have been killing them for more than seventy years.
The colonial powers know how to ruin the social fabrics in the colonies, and then they forget what the consequences could be in Iraq, Syria, Palestine and Lebanon, Sudan, Yemen, Afghanistan…
(My demands will go further and pressure the colonial powers to desist imposing sanctions on entire populations)
