History of chemically processed seed oil of all kinds. And the explosion of chronic disease, obesity, and metabolic illness

Posted on: January 2, 2026

“HEALTHIER” if you want to learn how to get back to real food and stop eating industrial chemicals.

In 1911, two candle makers saw electricity coming and knew their business was finished. They were sitting on massive amounts of cottonseed oil, an industrial byproduct nobody wanted.

Instead of dumping it, they found a way to sell it.

Heat it.
Hydrogenate it.
Bleach it.

Suddenly it looked like the animal fat humans had cooked with for generations.

They put it in a clean white can.
They named it Crisco.
They called it the food of the future.

They told people lard was dirty and dangerous.
They mailed beautiful cookbooks to households across America.
They wrapped industrial waste in science, marketing, and authority.

By the 1980s, most kitchens had replaced real fats with refined seed oils.
At the same time, chronic disease, obesity, and metabolic illness exploded.

This was not an accident.
It became the blueprint.

Big Food and Big Ag followed the same playbook.
Replace real food with lab-altered products.
Add preservatives, fake sweeteners, refined sugars, and chemical stabilizers.
Sell it as modern, safe, and superior.

These products are not designed for health.
They are designed for profit, shelf life, and scale.

GOOD ADVICE:
• Choose whole foods with short ingredient lists
• Cook with traditional fats used before industrial processing
• Question “scientific” food trends pushed by corporations
• Learn food history so marketing cannot fool you
• Take responsibility for what you put in your body

Real food built strong humans for thousands of years.
Ultra-processed food built massive balance sheets.
