The dividing line for power dominion for the next Cold War is being drawn…

The course of the routes for gas pipelines that will feed Europe is the dividing line for the next Cold War.

Syria, Iraq and Iran are within Russia/China dominion, including Turkey, whether Turkey likes it or not, if it insists on maintaining its rate of economic development.

The two major sticking points in the negotiations are Egypt and “what to do with Israel“.

Egypt is meant to be handed over to the US dominion.

However, Egypt would rather be included in the northern sphere of influence of Russia/China, away from the US dominion for several reasons:

1. The liberal policies imposed on Egypt in the last 3 decades have reduced 70 million of Egyptian into poverty. Only the new classes of contractors, estate development, and those who “won” the privatization of State intuitions got wealthy. The army own its private production facilities and privileges..

2. The preconditions on weapon delivery by the US to the Egyptian armies have reduced this army into taking on internal security tasks

3. Israel has proven to be an endemic enemy that refuses Egypt any bright spot in the Arab World and the means to develop economically proportionally to its exploding demographic necessities…

4. The former Soviet Union stood fast with Egypt after military defeats, and kept supplying Egypt with all kinds of facilities to build the Aswan Dam, the irrigation canals, the infrastructure, the weapons on credit… Bartering hardware and weapons with whatever Egypt produced in cotton

And what about Israel? A pseudo Palestinian State is being negotiated, for a short duration and for the form, just to pass the partition deal.

Saudi Arabia obscurantist monarchy is already doomed:

1. The US is no longer willing to wage a war to salvage this crumbling monarchy

2. Oil is a market commodity and any alternative regime will satisfy the market need

3. The US is becoming an exporter of oil and gas

And why the US is cornered into accept a new partition line?

1. The preemptive war on Iraq in 2003 was meant to physically dominate the scene of the gas pipelines and plan and control these projects. It was a complete fiasco, and the US troops had to vacate and leave Iraq under Iran hegemony umbrella.

2. The consequences of the failure of Greater Middle East restructuring initiated the financial crisis of the century of 2008 and

3. The inability of the US to launch another vast preemptive war

4. The oil and gas fields in the Central Asian State Federations are already sold to China and Russia and the pipelines are already connected

5. Germany is supplied directly by Russia via an underwater pipeline in the Baltic Sea

6. Austria and other European States are supplied by Russia via a pipeline under the Black Sea (circumventing Turkey)

7. Italy and other European States are supplied by Russia via a pipeline under the sea connecting Greece to Italy

8. Iran, the potential first producer of gas as the political environment becomes favorable, is to connect its gas pipeline across Syria and then to Greece and to Europe…

9. Syria and Lebanon are floating on gas and ready to export to Europe within a few years

Basically, the power supply of gas will be controlled by Russia and Iran.

Europe is bound to be reliant on Russia and Iran in the next decades.

And the US is to focus its attention on the Far East, across the Pacific Ocean and away from the Old World where only England is a sure ally.

Note: You may my previous post on that topic https://adonis49.wordpress.com/2012/09/28/is-the-us-starting-the-inevitable-retreat-from-the-middle-east-and-israel-reaction/

Terror in Lebanon? Not because Hezbollah conducted a counter-offense in Syria.

US chief of Staff Gen. Dempsey declared from Israel that Lebanon is to suffer the same turmoil as Syria and Iraq…

Meaning that the Lebanese have to brace themselves for a series of terrorist attacks, and the option of igniting another civil war

Why?

Apparently, the US administration came to the realization that all the terrorist activities perpetrated in Lebanon have so far failed to destabilize the country or pressure it into transforming its policies toward alternatives that serve the US and Israeli interests in the Greater Middle East…

What are the objectives of the US and the obscurantist monarchy of Saudi Arabia in Lebanon and the Syria/Iraq axe?

It is all about the routes of the gas pipelines that will ultimately serve the European markets.

So far, Russia is pulling the strings for the current and future pipeline routes, in cooperation with Iran and China.

Russia is the first producer and exporter of gas, and Europe and China depend on Russian gas.

Iran has the potential of displacing Russia as first producer of gas, if the political environment permits it.

Saudi Arabia is set to be the third producer in a decade.

Syria and Lebanon are floating on gas.

Qatar and Saudi Arabia have no effective economical alternatives but for their pipelines to cross Syria, but they want the projects under preconditions:

1. The major gas export should be done in Turkey’s ports to be transported by underwater pipeline toward Europe. Why?

2. Currently, Russia and Italy have already connected their gas export with Greece, bypassing Turkey that is considered the main powerful US ally in the region.

3. Syria has to dissociate its economical policies from Iran and rely on other sources for development…

Syria of Bashar Assad declined the offer and refused the preconditions.

And Syria had to be destabilized and its infrastructure demolished and a civil war doing the business of forcing Syria to kneel to foreign demands.

Thousands of mercenaries have been dispatched since 2011, from land, sea and air into Syria, and from the 4 corners of the world, funded, supported and trained in Turkey, Jordan, Israel, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt… And the Western media refused to shed any lights on these dangerous transfer of mercenaries,,,

The worst kinds of mercenaries are the journalists and reporters who circumvent the facts and fail to do their due diligence: They are under the firm preconception that pleasing the editors’ “programmed opinions” is a sure way to get published and get paid…

They mention a few known semi-cooked opinions and insert the editors political lines as their own

For example, the propaganda lines in the western and the rich Arab States is to claim that the terrorist attacks in Lebanon are consequences of Hezbollah military involvement in Syria, along side Syria official army.

The facts are that Hezbollah refrained for two years from engaging in military counter offensives within Syria, against the countless terrorist attacks of the Syrian “Resistance” forces within Lebanon.

For two years Hezbollah did its best to convince the belligerent forces and Hamas that political negotiations are the only alternatives for this civil war…

Hezbollah decided to clear Qusair, a stronghold of the Takfiri terrorists at 10 km from Lebanon, and controlled the eastern borders of Lebanon with Syria.

The northern region in Lebanon (Akkar), the city of Tripoli, and the Bekaa Valley were targets of missiles from across the borders and frequent violent demonstrations… and the government preferred to hide behind lame excuses for non intervention in the neighboring country wracked by violence and civil war…

The Lebanese army is not equipped in appropriate weapons and manpower to control the long borders with Syria, and more importantly, was not covered politically to get engaged effectively…

Lebanon has no government, and the parliament voted to extend its tenure for another two years, and the Constitutional Court failed to meet to give its opinion… Only the close cooperation of the army and Hezbollah resistance forces managed to keep this volatile situation under control…

All the events are pointing to the fact that Hezbollah has decided to preempt the wave of terrorist activities planned to rack its stronghold quarters in Dahieh, in Nabatieh, in Baalbak…

For two years, the people in the Bekaa Valley were attacked and threatened by the Syrian “Resistance” forces in order to facilitate the transport of weapons and supplies and mercenaries across the Lebanese open and long borders with Syria.

For two years, Al Zawahiri and Al Qaeda leaders bluntly proclaimed that their war in Syria is targeting Hezbollah: Once Syria of Bashar falls, Hezbollah will drop like a ripe fruit…

Al Joulani threatened that the war will be transferred to Dahyia (Hezbollah stronghold in the suburb of Beirut) and the picture of Nasr Allah were burned in Syria and in several locations in Lebanon with heavy Sunni concentrations…

What can you say when this Lebanese singer Elissa blurted out in front of her audience in Downtown Beirut “This is the first time that I don’t feel sorry for the dead and injured in Bir el Abed...?”  As if this brain-dead singer has ever felt sorry for anything but her failed sentimental encounters…

Terror in Lebanon? Not because Hezbollah conducted a counter-offense in Syria and cleared Lebanon’s borders from the Takfiri terrorist concentrations on our doorstep…

Note 1: Part of this post was inspired by an article of the journalist Jean Aziz in the Lebanese daily Al Akhbar

Note 2: As I clicked published, the news announced 2 car bombs exploding in front of Sunni mosques in the city of Tripoli (Lebanon), harvesting 45 killed and over 900 injured.

Note 3: If I were the President of the Republic, I would summon the western and superpower ambassadors to Lebanon and warn them to stop planning of further terrorist attacks and dismantle their terrorist networks.  Every single embassy has more intelligence gathering capabilities than the entire Lebanese security services.  Worst, the swap and share intelligence with Israel.

Note 4: It is up to the Lebanese to put siege around these embassies and send the strong message that “We are no longer ready to sit put and submit to all the humiliation and indignities heaped upon us”

Chemical attacks in Syria? Is it a matter of point of view or point of attack?

It seems that not many people are sure that hundreds in Syrians were target of chemical attacks.

Photos show the dead and injured, and videos are backing claims of mass murder events.

Is it a point of view or point of attack that are blurring the lines between reality and fiction?

I decided to posts two articles, representing the pro-Syrian government media and another voicing the opinion of the “insurgents”

Syria: Chemical Attack in Ghouta “an Accident Caused by Free Syrian Army”

  published this August 21, 2013:

The attack that killed over 200 people in the Damascus suburbs could be an accident caused by a riot control agent, and those responsible may be a faction of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and not the Assad regime, according to a chemical weapons specialist.

Syrian opposition activists claim that rockets loaded with toxic agents were launched towards the suburbs of the Ghouta region at 3 am, killing more than 570 people, mostly women and children. Horrific footage of people being treated in makeshift hospitals and many children suffocating, having convulsions or laying immobile emerged on social media.

Gwyn Winfield, editorial director at CBRNe World, a magazine specializing in chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive weapons, told IBTimes UK that it is difficult to identify an agent by the signs and symptoms alone.

image
“We can say there is some form of chemical used. But until we take blood samples, samples of the soil and the water in the area we can’t say that a chemical agent has been used,” he said.

“It can be a riot control agent, like in the recent Egyptian case of the tear gas used in the back of a van that killed 36 prisoners. We have the same symptoms in the children and casualties.”

Symptoms of those hit by the attack include nausea, hallucinations, suffocation, hard coughing, high blood pressure, seizures and a post-death gargle, according to Syrian blogger Enas, from Amman in Jordan.

In response to the initial reports, the Syrian government has denied that chemical weapons were used.

Winfield said he finds it “suspicious” that in the week UN inspectors enter the country with the acquiescence of Assad, the Government welcomes them with a chemical weapons missile barrage.

“It is not impossible that some faction in the Free Syrian Army did it to get attention, or maybe it was an accident by an inexperienced operator who may have not realized what he was doing.”

The security expert said there are numerous cases of riot agent used in a lethal way, for example in confined spaces and not to disperse a crowd.

He added that the idea that the FSA is single and unified is “a myth,” because “there are different factions and something like that could be a win/win for them: launch the attack and raise amount of profile of their cause by the UN.”

Winfield said that more than 570 victims, if confirmed, are a lot of people in a not densely populated area. “It means the attack targeted a large area and it is not an isolated incident. If there are 570 fatalities it would suggest that evidence of what it is will not be hard to find.”

Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, a former commanding officer at the UK’s Joint Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Regiment, told the BBC’s Today program that the footage was “horrific” and agreed that it would be “very difficult to stage-manage”.

The UK Foreign Secretary William Hague said he is “concerned” by reports of a chemical attack…

The Revolting Syrian posted:

Aug 21, 2013 – At approximately 3:00 am in Damascus, a year to the day after Obama’s infamous “red line” speech warning Assad about using chemical weapons, and as a specialized UN inspection team sleep in their hotels in Damascus, ostensibly there to investigate a CW attack 6 months ago, Assad launched his largest, most wide scale and most deadly attack using chemical weapons on the Damascus suburbs of Zamallaka and Ein Turma in the Eastern Ghouta area.

The fallout from the attack was also felt in many of the surrounding districts.

Preliminary reports are that close to 600 people have been killed so far with thousands more injured from the effects of the gas which some are claiming, based on the symptoms seen, to be “weaponized cyanide

In two days, you and the rest of the world will forget about this massacre the same way you forgot about the rest that have happened over the last 2+ years in Syria.
image
We Syrians however, will never forget. Not the martyrs and not the way the rest of the world sat by and watched this happen to us.
A morbid list of at least 75 videos from today’s attack compiled by @Brown_Moses here
A comprehensive list and description of the attacks by @RSyrianCivilWar here

Note 1: Many countries are producing modified tear gas agents, far more potent to disperse mass demonstrators and deadly in many cases.  The tear gas have killed many in Egypt, Turkey, Palestine and Tunisia, Pakistan, Thailand…

Note 2: In these bad times, it is highly plausible that dark forces have switched, tampered, or transposed canisters with lethal gases. And nobody is about to admit that he was fooled, had, or did the dirty operation…

Note 3: A plausible alternative was that the Syrian army bombed the town of Jerba and hit nerve gas reserves stored by the rebels in tunnels… Apparently, antidote nerve gas were discovered in the tunnels…

Best prank on Lady Gaga? And what is this “Marina Abramovic method”? A mind game?

Apparently, Serbian conceptual artist Marina Abramovic admitted today to pop singer Lady Gaga that she was “just messing with her the entire time” and that she actually really hates her music, style, and “art”.

TheGlobal Edition published this August 16, 2013

Marina Abramovic Admits: “I Was Just Fucking With Lady Gaga for years…”

Abramovic said that she decided to come clean to Gaga after watching her go through the “Abramovic method”, something she says she made up just to see if Gaga would really do it.

“When I said couple of years ago that I admire Lady Gaga, I thought that she and everyone else would get the sarcasm, but no. People actually believed me when I called her “the future of art”. So I said, what the heck, let’s just go with the flow and see what happens,” said Marina Abramovic.

marina lady gaga

Abramovic, who kept the singer in belief her music was “revolutionary and groundbreaking” for more than a year, says that the joke has gone too far.

“In the beginning it was funny, because she is so gullible. I tell her to do some crazy shit and she does it. Now I am afraid that she will do something dangerous if she continues to draw her inspiration from my words,” concludes Abramovic, adding that this was her best prank she pulled in years.

Lady Gaga was unavailable for comment, but The Global Edition found out that the young singer was “convinced that this was just another of Marina’s motherly ways to express positive emotions.

(And I am wondering: “What is this fucking Abramovic method”?  Method doing what? Can anyone give details?)

Development jargon decoded: sustainable development

Les Roopanarine asks why sustainable development has proved so elusive?

This is the first installment of his series decoding development speakers.

 published in theguardian.com, this August 12, 2013 13:

Age (of the jargon): Debatable. Many of its underlying ideas first came together in 1962, when Rachel Carson published  Silent Spring. This book highlighted the dangers of industrial malpractice and emphasized the inherent fragility of the natural world.

Like George Clooney, it may be a good 10 years younger than it looks: the 1972 Stockholm Declaration focused, among other things, on the need to safeguard human rights and natural resources, protect the environment and support developing countries.

Appearance: Shrouded in mystery. Just about everyone in the development community would love to know what it looks like, but no one’s ever seen it.

mdg : george clooney

Like George Clooney, the term ‘sustainable development’ is younger than how it appears. Photograph: Allstar/Fox Searchlight/Sportsphoto

So why are we talking about it? Because sustainable development is the holy grail of the development world.

So it probably looks like that gold cup in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade!

Is that why we don’t know what it looks like? Do people tumble into a giant abyss whenever they’re about to get their hands on it?

No. Although it would be fair to say it’s something of a poisoned chalice.

Oh? Do tell. What exactly is it then?

That’s just it, nobody knows.

In June last year, world leaders – hopeful of discovering the answer to that very question – converged on Brazil for the Rio+20 conference. The plan was to agree a new set of global development targets based on the principles of sustainable development.

The intent was to strike a balance between the three pillars of economy, society and environment, and they would put the world on the path to a more sustainable future. The outcome was somewhat different.

Why, what happened?

Unable to reach consensus on some of the big issues, said world leaders conceded defeat and instead set up a working group of 30 countries to formulate a plan for developing a new set of global development targets; by striking a balance between the three pillars of economy, society and environment, they would … well, you know the rest.

Too many caipirinhas? Someone should have told them about the Brundtland commission’s 1987 declaration that sustainable development “meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.

You mean it was codified a quarter of a century ago and still hasn’t been put into practice? What on Earth are we waiting for, doomsday?

Funny you should say that. Then again, you can’t just jump into these things: they have to be properly discussed and planned. That’s why there have been three high-level international conferences on sustainable development in two decades.

Three?!? Yep. They didn’t call it Rio+20 for nothing: the original Rio Earth summit was held in 1992, and that was followed in 2002 by the world summit on sustainable development in Johannesburg.

So sustainable development is all about having major international conferences in far-flung locations every 10 years to discuss how to achieve sustainable development? Now you’re getting the hang of it.

Do say:What we need is a set of global development targets that cover not only extreme poverty but also climate change, resource efficiency and the preservation of ecosystems.”

Don’t say: “This idea just hasn’t got legs

Activists In DC:  Identifying Long-Term Police Protest Infiltrator

Rumors have flown for many years that DC police routinely infiltrate and spy on the frequent protests in the nation’s Capitol.

Until now, activists have never been able to identify a specific undercover cop at a protest. After months of piecing together evidence, attorneys Jeffrey Light and Sean Canavan working with United Students Against Sweatshop (USAS) have confirmed that under an assumed name, Metro police officer Nicole Rizzi has participated in USAS protests against companies doing business in Bangladesh who refuse to sign the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh following the death of as many as 1,129 workers in the Rana Plaza factory collapse.

Mike Elk posted on Popular resistance www.inthesetimes.com this August 6th, 2013

Activists In DC Identify Long-Term Police Protest Infiltrator

USAS and its lawyers have numerous pieces of evidence placing Rizzi at protests under a pseudonym.

District of Columbia Public Employee Information List records obtained by In These Times confirm that Rizzi has been on the DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) force since December of 2003.

USAS filed suit on Monday against the District of Columbia seeking an injunction to stop police from spying on the group’s activities.

The story of how Rizzi was uncovered reads like a mix of “Gossip Girl” and “The Wire.”

Activists pieced her identity together from her obsessive posting to social media sites, including Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, FacebookWordPress and Yfrog.

Lacy MacAuley, an activist and media manager for the Institute for Policy Studies, has suspected for the past several years that a protester named “Missy” was an undercover cop. “Missy” seemed to be at every protest, but no one knew her. However, MacAuley had no way of proving her suspicions.

In November of 2012, MacAuley was at a bar on U Street when a friend recommended that she follow a Twitter account of a funny person with the handle @snufftastic. MacAuley immediately identified the user in the photographs as the person she knew as “Missy.” The user Tweeted frequently about the daily grind of being a police officer in DC.

MacAuley says she then spotted Rizzi as “Missy” at an anti-Keystone pipeline protest at the Canadian Embassy on March 21, 2013.

That was when MacAuley decided to approach Jeffrey Light, an attorney who works on police misconduct issues, with her suspicions. Light and his law partner Sean Canavan began searching for evidence to peg Rizzi as an undercover police officer.

The trickiest part was establishing Rizzi’s real name. But on @snufftastic, she let clues drop.

On August 2, 2012, she Tweeted, “They used to call me No Sweat Nico because no matter how hot it was at academy, I never sweat.”

Light and Canavan did a public database search of all police officers in D.C. and found only two named Nicole; one was Rizzi. Photos on “Nicole Rizzi”’s Facebook account matched those on the @snufftastic Twitter and Instagram.

Moreover, a post on Rizzi’s since-deleted Tumblr account seemed to indicate that Rizzi worked undercover.

In response to a post from a reader asking her how flexible her dress code was as a police officer, Rizzi said she wore “ordinary clothes,” but made a distinction between her position and that of a “plainclothes” patrol cop: “In the position I’m in, it’s beneficial to wear ordinary clothes. Plainclothes assignments too, you wear what would blend in.”

What banks usually do to other people?

Make them Not Read your fine prints

What can you do to bank?

The idea of beating the banks at their own game may seem like a rich joke, but Dmitry Agarkov, a 42-year-old Russian man, may have managed it.

Unhappy with the terms of an unsolicited credit card offer, he received from online bank Tinkoff Credit Systems, Agarkov scanned the document, wrote in his own terms and sent it through.

The bank approved the contract without reading the amended fine print, unwittingly agreeing to a Zero percent interest rate, unlimited credit and no fees, as well as a stipulation that the bank pay steep fines for changing or canceling the contract.

Agarkov used the card for two years, but the bank ultimately canceled it and sued Agarkov for $1,363.

The bank said he owed them charges, interest and late-payment fees.

A court ruled that, because of the no-fee, no-interest stipulation Agarkov had written in, he owed only his unpaid $575 balance.

Now Agarkov is suing the bank for $727,000 for not honoring the contract’s terms, and the bank is hollering fraud.

The bank signed the documents without looking. They said what usually their borrowers say in court: ‘We have not read it,’” Agarkov’s lawyer said. The shoe’s on the other foot now, eh? [Source]

Israel Filka Site: Fouad Seniora, Lebanon former PM, an Israeli Spy…?
Hezbollah Secretary General, Hassan Nasr Allah gave an extensive interview to the channel Al Mayadeen, a day before the car bombing of Bir Al Abed that harvested 26 killed and over 270 injured.
In that interview, corresponding to the anniversary of the cease fire of Israel preemptive war on Lebanon in 2006, and which lasted 33 day, Nasr Allah explained:
“On the 30th day of the war, Israel dropped all its preconditions in order to reach a UN resolution for a cease fire. The US and Israel dropped their conditions for the demilitarization of Hezbollah, the assembling of a 15,000 UN peace corps before retreating, or the return of the 400,000 Lebanese refugees to their villages and towns in the south… The return of the two kidnapped Israeli soldiers were to be dealt with in later swap negotiations for prisoners….
The problem was that the UN was waiting for the response of the Lebanese government agreement to the resolution for it to take effect.
Fouad Muhammad Seniora was the PM and he delayed the response for two days: He was an even more of a hardliner than Israel and US combined, and wanted that Hezbollah hands over its weapons to the Lebanese army, even knives, before he agrees to Resolution 1701.
What happened in the following two days?
1. Israel air bombed haphazardly the area of Dahiya, demolishing buildings in order to inflict maximum casualties among the civilians.
2. Israel demanded cluster bombs, and British Tony Blair PM obliged by shipping the bombs from a Scottish military depot. Israel spread 4 million tiny bombs in the south with the objective of delaying the return of the Lebanese to the south
Most Lebanese strongly suspected, if not convinced that Seniora was a US agent, but Israel Filka Site dropped this bombshell on August 2013: “Seniora has been an Israeli spy since 1974, and participated in the assassination of his boss Rafic Hariri PM in 2005…”
فؤاد السنيورة
The spy Fouad Seniora.
Israel Filka Site revealed that Israel Military censured an article by Aaron Goldbird (former Mossad agent) in the daily Haaretz that mentioned Lebanon former Fouad Seniora PM to be an Israeli spy since 1974.
Israel Filka Site pointed out in its report Bleu Farcom the following:
1. Commander Goldbird worked for the Mossad from 1970 to 1989 and was the “handler” of Seniora and met with him three time during Lebanon civil war.
2. After Goldbird retirement, Israel General Prosecutor ordered him never to leave Israel.
3. The story of how Seniora was enlisted in the Mossad was released to the Israeli dailies by Gelaad Levine, Goldbird’s lawyer.
4. Goldbird was responsible for training and following up on the foreign agents in Lebanon and he receive a file called Nour
5. Goldbird traveled to Beirut under a faked French  passport (#84/33455) and rented a furnished apartment in the resort town of Aley.
6. Goldbird called Nour, who was Fouad Mohammad Seniora from Saida, and trained him on communication facilities, safe connection, techniques for gathering pieces of intelligence, and confusing the investigators… All these training were conducted in 1974
7.  Goldbird met Seniora again in Tel Aviv in late 1976, Seniora arrived via Greece
8.  He met with Seniora again in Paris
9. And a third time in 1977 using a faked Jordanian passport.
10. Every time Seniora met with Goldbird, he would carry Lebanese sweet in the name of his family, claiming to be handmade by himself
11. Goldbird was dumbfounded as he watched Seniora on TV acting as Prime Minister to Lebanon.
12. Seniora offered Israel very important pieces of intelligence before and after he became Prime minister.
13. During Israel preemptive war on Lebanon in 2006, Seniora was Prime Minister and aided Israel far more than anyone could, particularly during his many meetings with the US administration personalities, journalists and his steadfast position against Hezbollah military power…
14. Professor Eliahu Penysson claims that it was Seniora who gave the assassins of his master Rafic Hariri the route that Hariri would be taking from the parliament
15. Seniora rewarded Hariri’s personal security man Wissam Hassan, who failed to show up the day of the assassination, by appointing him chief of the internal intelligence section, which was heavily funded and closely supported by the US, France, England and many Arab governments.
Note 1: The day the cease fire officially took effect, the Lebanese refugees returned on the same day and lived in tents for months and worked their lands. They did not wait for anyone to give them permission to return and crossed rivers and makeshift bridges on feet.  The cluster bombs are still killing and injuring Lebanese civilians since 2006, and the de-mining project is not over yet, for lack of funding.
Note 2: Seniora worked closely with Israel and allowed Israel to establish dozen of “safe houses” and weapon depots in Beirut till 2008.  He ordered that Hezbollah relinquish connecting fixed land lines that cannot be easily be monitored. Hezbollah overran all these safe houses, called private security services and Seniora was ousted as PM.
Note 3: The Algerian daily Al Shouruk published that Seniora code name was Nour with a file # 345548 and it was Seniora who forwarded to the Israeli the schedule and route of Rafic Hariri movements when Hariri was assassinated by a violent car explosion on February 1975. Seniora visited Israel via Greece and met his Israeli agents in the USA and Europe…

Our men throw acid in our faces, destroy our lives.

Should we ever stop loving men?

(Warning: Violent images)

Men throw acid on us with the intention of injuring or disfiguring us. Men throw acid on our bodies, burn our faces, smash our noses, melt our eyes, and walk away as happy men.

Acid attack is common in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Cambodia, and a few other countries.

Men throw acid on us because men are angry with us for ending relationships, for refusing sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, proposals of marriage, demands for dowry.

They throw acid on us for attending schools, for not wearing Islamic veils, for not behaving well, for speaking too much, for laughing loudly.

India

She was 18, a college student. Three of her neighbors sexually harassed her for more than two years and then threw acid on her. Her skin on the skull, face, neck, chest and back were melted away.

After nine years of that attack Sonali Mukherjee is now blind in both eyes and partially deaf. Her father spent millions of rupees for her treatment. They have now no money. The attackers got bail from the High Court, continued threatening to kill her. She is now asking the government to help her or allow her to end her life.

Cambodia

The face of Sokreun Mean, who was blinded and disfigured by an acid attack.

Carsten Stormer, a German journalist & photographer said,

“Acid attacks deprive people of more than their looks and sight. Families are torn apart. Husbands leave their wives. Children are separated from their parents. Jobs vanish overnight, turning professionals into beggars.

Many victims cannot get through a day without constant assistance, becoming burdens on their families. All bear the mark of the pariah.

What remains is a traumatized society in which domestic disputes, unhappy love affairs, and professional rivalries are nearly always resolved through violence.

Hardly a family without its members lost to the ideological battles of the Khmer Rouge – a curse that is passed on from parents to children. Battery acid is known to be most uncomplicated way of causing lifelong suffering. A dollar will buy you a quart of acid on any street corner. The perpetrators are seldom punished. Their targets become outcasts.”

Pakistan

Fakhra Younus was attacked by her husband Bilal Khar, ex-MPA of the Punjab Assembly and the son of Pakistani Politician Ghulam Mustafa Khar. He threw acid in her face after they split up.

Tehmina Durrani, the author of ‘My Feudal Lord’, the former step mother of Bilal Khar tried to help Fakhra. She was sent to Italy for treatment. After having 39 re-constructive surgeries, Fakhra committed suicide.

The stories of the girls, from left to right:

Ten years ago Shahnaz Bibi was burned with acid by a relative due to a familial dispute. She has never undergone plastic surgery.

Najaf Sultana is now 16. At the age of 5 Najaf was burned by her father while she was sleeping. Her father didn’t want to have another girl in the family. Najaf became blind.

Shameem Akhter (20) was kidnapped and raped by a gang of men who then threw acid on her 3 years ago.

Kanwal Kayum, now 26, was burned with acid one year ago by a man whom she rejected for marriage.

Bashiran Bibi was burned at her husband’s house just after her marriage.

Nasreen Sharif was a beautiful girl. When she was 14, her cousin poured a bottle of sulphuric acid in her face. He did it because he couldn’t stand boys whistling at her when she crossed the street. Her skin melted away, her hair burned away. She is now blind, she has no ears and she has no sense of smell.

Among others, there is Shaziya Abdulsattar, an eight-year-old girl. Shaziya’s father threw acid on her and her mother Azim last year after the mother refused to sell their two boys to a man in Dubai to use as camel racers.

Bangladesh
It is very easy for a man to get sulphuric acid if he wants to attack a woman he does not like. The country has become a hot spot for acid attacks. A disfigured woman is not able to get married or get a job. She becomes a financial and social burden on her family.

Neela was forced to marry when she was 12 years old. Her husband threw acid on her face when she was 14. He was angry with Neela because her family was unable to give him the dowry money he asked for.

Nepal

Akriti Rai, 22, was attacked by her husband, a Nepali soldier.

Iran

Ameneh Bahrami rejected the offer of having a relationship with Majid Movahedi, a fellow student at the University of Tehran. He then threw a bottle of acid in her face.

Zambia

A man threw acid on a 13-year-old girl’s face to take a revenge. The older sister of the girl said: “You have to grow crocodile skin to clean the wounds of an acid survivor. The worst ordeal was while in the hospital, as the skin kept peeling off. I didn’t realize that the tongue skin was also peeling off. The young girl was pushing something in her mouth. I opened her mouth to see and found that almost the whole tongue had come off. I had to pull it out like you do with a cow and only a little red thing (tongue) remained.’

Nitric acid, sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid are today’s weapons of choice for criminals who hate women. These acids are easy to buy, easy to hide, easy to carry, and easy to throw. A person who witnessed many acid attacks , said, ‘in a less than a minute the bone under the skin can start to be exposed. If there is enough acid, the bone itself can become a soft mass of non-distinguishable jelly. Internal organs can dissolve. Fingers, noses and ears can melt away like chocolate on a hot day.’

Ethiopia

Twenty-one-year-old woman Kamilat Mehdi’s life was changed forever when a stalker threw sulphuric acid in her face. Ismail, Kamilat’s brother said: “The man who attacked her stalked her for a few years. He gave her a hard time but she didn’t tell the family for fear that something would happen to them. He was always saying he would use a gun on them.”

Ultimately the stalker’s weapon of choice was not a gun, but a bottle of acid. He used it on Kamilat and destroyed her entire life in one second.

UK

Her lover did it. Richard Remes threw sulphuric acid on Patricia Lefranc. Her nose and eyelids were melted away, she lost sight in one eye and hearing in one ear, she also lost a finger. She came close to death, as the corrosive substance nearly burned through her heart and lungs. The horrific attack physically and emotionally scarred her for life.

What was her crime? She ended her relationship with Richard Remes, a married man.

We are more abused, harassed, exploited, kidnapped, raped, trafficked, murdered by our lovers, husbands, fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, friends, or men we know well than by strangers.

Whatever happens to us, we never stop loving men.
